Jes calls her music rocktronica, and this albums shows why. Its a perfect blend of electronic elements with the rock attitude. She evolves little bit from the classic trance style into a very vivid sound.

I liked a fair bit of this album, there were a few songs that I thought could have been left out. For me, closer is the killer track, but there are quite a few tracks very close behind. Most albums contain 10 tracks and to be sure, there are 10 great tracks (out of 15) on this album.

Let me start by saying that Jes is an amazing talent. She has an innate ability to make start to finish albums that are impossible to turn off until you reach the end. I can only imagine if she was into the music scene during the 70's or 80's when people had to buy the whole album every time. Girl would be challenging Madonna for The reigning Queen of music! You will never find her complaining though I guarantee you that. She will however bust her butt to put out another start to finish album. This makes two for two. "Disconnect" and "High Glow". In this day and age you won't find a more deserving artist. Enjoy.

I was eagerly awaiting this release for a very long time. Finally when it came out, I listed to the 30 second samples on amazon and didn't know what to think. I didn't really like it much, so even though the previous 2 cds where longtime favorites on my ipod, I decided to hold off on this one. Finally I got to hear the full tracks and was very surprised. Then I made the purchase and have enjoyed High Glow as much as disconnect. If you are on the fence, take a listen to the new podcast with remixes on the planetjes site or apple tunes. The full tracks are a lot better than the 30 second samples, the samples don't do the songs justice.

Really more like four-and-a-half stars -- she's still got room to grow, and I should probably save that last star for when she reaches pop goddess perfection -- but I'm forced to round up. The winning streak in the middle of the album that begins with the lethal "Do You Love Me?" (which is the best song Pat Benatar never wrote back in the day, possibly because she had nowhere near this many synthesizers), progresses through the drop-dead gorgeous title ballad, and ends up with a couple ridiculously infectious dance odes to love called "It's Too Late" and "Where You Are," alone is worth the purchase. Plus there's "Awaken." At this point, Jes should be as big as Robyn, who in turn should be as big as Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I very much enjoy listening to the tracks off "High Glow". My favorites are "Awaken", "Where You Are" and "It's Too Late". If you like what you hear in the 30-sec samples of a few tracks (take your pick), you will like the whole thing.

I really wasn't sure to make of Jes before I got any of her music. I now have two of her CD's and am really pleasantly surprised. She has a great voice and a wide musical range which makes much of her music the kind of tracks that you want to keep on repeat. This CD in very well recorded as a bonus.

JES outdoes herself with her second release, improving even more upon her unique sound from her first album. She is a truly gifted artist who trascends dance, alternative, and rock, to brand her "Rocktronica" style. I'm happy to support her and can't wait for more!

Jes out did her self yet again with HIGH GLOW. I didn't think she could top her self off after Disconnect, but lucky I was wrong. HIGH GLOW is another reason why Jes is and will always be the Queen of electronica! Every song on this cd has its own style and vibe, but keeps you in the rhythm. Her remake of lovesong is amazing all on its own. This cd will keep you wanting more. If your a fan of Disconnect the you will defiantly enjoy HIGH GLOW!
