High-Grade Foldable Hammock (Silver) Folding Hammock with Carrying Bag

This "Foldable Hammock" greatly exceeded my expectations! A link to this was posted on an website that I like as joke for people who want to knock off at work, but it seemed like it would be a good gift for my wife (not because she would slack at work, she owns a small business). We live in a very rural area and like to spend time outside at parks and on Appalachian Trail (which runs a few miles from our house) and we usually make a day of it when we head out. This hammock will make these outings much more relaxing. It comes in several different colors and we bought the black one (and it qualified for "Prime" shipping from Amazon), but the color doesn't effect performance. Here are my observations:

Pros:
+ EASY to Setup; just unfold the fully connected frame, select the height and width settings (making sure they match on all sides), and connect the netting
+ High Quality; this is well made and very strong, we loaded it up with 360lbs (two teen aged kids) and it held fine
+ Comfortable; We range from 5'3" to 5"10" and 165lbs to 240lbs - all of us find it comfortable (see picture in "Customer Images"), but vary in ease of getting in\out of it (the kids are much faster)
+ Foldable; the frame folds to about the size of a foldable chair and fits easily into the included sturdy carrying case, while the netting fits into a pocket on the outside of the case

Cons:
- Strong Chemical Smell; the netting came with a strong smell that has significantly dissipated over time, but it took a few days
- No Instructions; not sure if it was just missed on ours, but there were no instructions included at all. As noted above, setup was so easy we didn't need them but care and safety directions would have been nice to have

Misc:
* The protective plastic on the frame was a pain to remove
* The plastic end caps tend to pop out, making it important to check that you have them before packing up

Overall, this is well made and convenient portable hammock that should last a very long time. I will likely like buy at least one more of these now that we know how good they are.

Do you have these problems: Constant irritation due to folding canvas chairs which generally do not recline and do not breathe well, leading to a sore back and excessive dampness after just a short sitting duration? Wish you could lay out in the breeze without having to get dirty on the ground? Think a hammock would solve these problems but can't find two suitable trees to set up between?

Pros:
1. Light-weight
2. Adjustable height and length and width
3. Hammock attaches via single hook on either end, allowing for easy swinging
4. Hammock made of nylon mesh which breathes well on a hot summer day (as opposed to non-permeable canvas)
5. Carrying bag has both a handle and backpack straps
6. Carrying bag has a half side zipper to make it easier to pack and unpack the folded hammock.
7. Very comfortable - hammock mesh is very soft and stretchy. Easy to fall asleep while laying in it.

Cons:
1. The hooks on the support arms bend much too easily. These hooks allow adjustability of height, length, and width. They have not snapped or broken YET, but it seems that every time I set up I am making small changes to the angle of the hooks by slightly bending the soft metal. I am confident that eventually this slight bending could cause the metal to weaken and fail, but so far so good (fingers crossed). Suffice to say I get into the hammock with as little impact or jarring as possible, to reduce the strain on the frame. I weigh 170 lbs and so far it has held my weight without a problem, but no need to tempt fate I suppose.
2. The length of the hammock itself is not suitable for tall people. As an example, I am 5'8" and even at the longest setting my head and feet just touch the plastic keepers at the ends of the hammock. Someone 6' or taller would be forced to hang their feet past the end of the hammock, and it might not be as comfortable for them.

Note: there are many other portable hammocks available online, but they have some key differences. Some use a solid canvas hammock which does not breathe as well this mesh hammock. Some use a hanging hook at each of the 4 corners which prevents the hammock from swinging in the breeze (this has just the 2 hanging hooks centered on each end). Some have integrated sun shades overhead or shelves underneath (this one does not) which I think would be nice but would undoubtedly add to the weight - this is a trade-off decision that you would need to make on your own.

Summary:
I have received compliments and envious glances from everyone that sees me gently swaying in the breeze on the beach or in the park and have provided the product purchase information to more than a few others looking to buy their own. Assuming you are not significantly heavier or taller than I am, I think you will be extremely pleased with this portable hammock. If the cons I mentioned above are not deal-breakers, I would definitely recommend this purchase.

I absolutely love this hammock. I keep in in my balcony. I got the silver hammock, it looks great specially at night. This is a perfect place for me to study. The only word of advice is be easy when taking it out of the box as the carrying case ripped easily. Other than that it is absolutely a dream come true. I highly recommend this product.

It fits easily into the car and took less than a minute to put up
My husband is over 6 ft tall and fits in comfortably and managed a snooze for over an hour.
The netting is slightly stretchy making it comfortable
The hammock isn't too far off the ground so you can put your cold drink on the floor without too much of a stretch and it is easy to get in and out of. I am 5ft 3" and thought I might have problems getting in and out!
We are really, really pleased with this product and are looking forward to spending the summer in it!

I love my foldable hammock! I bought it early this summer for use on my narrow apartment porch and it fits perfectly! It's excellent for single-person use. And the fact that it comes with the stand makes it all the better. More than once I have packed it up in its handy carrying bag to take to the beach or on family vacation weekends. The mesh hammock is very comfortable, as well. I was afraid from the picture that it would not be, because its not the typical hammock material. I thought I might replace it, but I am in fact very happy with the mesh material.

The seller stands behind their product as well. My mesh hammock happened to have a defect, and so I sent an email seeing if it could be replaced. The same day I received a phone call and they were more than willing to replace it, free of charge. They even promised that it would be in the mail that day!

I highly recommend this product. Its a great way to come home at the end of the day and enjoy warm evenings outside- no matter where you are!

Item was shipped on time and in great condition. It's a little heavy but sturdy and comfortable. Great for pool side patio, camping, beach, etc. as long has you don't have to carry it too far and fit's comfortably on your back. Thank you

I was very leery of buying this hammock online, but I read good reviews on it and decided to try it. I'm glad I did, it really is compact and adjustable, and comfortable and best of all, swings really well. I live in a 2nd fl apt and don't have the luxury of a back yard or patio, but I love hammocks, and I have it in my living room for taking a nap, reading, or watching tv. It's so fun, especially on a saturday afternoon. Totally worth buying if you are in a situation where hanging a hammock is not practical.

I love this hammock! I set it up on my balcony, in the living room, and at camp grounds. It's very easy to set up and store, and the hammock swings well. I love it so much I bought two: one silver and one blue. Both colors are gorgeous.
The stand is sturdy and so is the netting of the hammock. The only problem I had was the ropes of the hammock became brittle and broke after leaving it out there for the summer season under the Texas sun. I've been taking in my hammock ever since my first one broke and have had no problems. I had a hard time finding a contact information to get it repaired. But when I finally did, customer service was great and promptly replaced it. Overall I am very satisfied with this hammock!
