High-Grade Foldable Hammock (Blue) Folding Hammock with Carrying Bag

This "Foldable Hammock" greatly exceeded my expectations! A link to this was posted on an website that I like as joke for people who want to knock off at work, but it seemed like it would be a good gift for my wife (not because she would slack at work, she owns a small business). We live in a very rural area and like to spend time outside at parks and on Appalachian Trail (which runs a few miles from our house) and we usually make a day of it when we head out. This hammock will make these outings much more relaxing. We bought the black one (and it qualified for "Prime" shipping from Amazon), but the color doesn't effect performance. Here are my observations:

Pros:
+ EASY to Setup; just unfold the fully connected frame, select the height and width settings (making sure they match on all sides), and connect the netting
+ High Quality; this is well made and very strong, we loaded it up with 360lbs (two teen aged kids) and it held fine
+ Comfortable; We range from 5'3" to 5"10" and 165lbs to 240lbs - all of us find it comfortable (see picture in "Customer Images"), but vary in ease of getting in\out of it (the kids are much faster)
+ Foldable; the frame folds to about the size of a foldable chair and fits easily into the included sturdy carrying case, while the netting fits into a pocket on the outside of the case

Cons:
- Strong Chemical Smell; the netting came with a strong smell that has significantly dissipated over time, but it took a few days
- No Instructions; not sure if it was just missed on ours, but there were no instructions included at all. As noted above, setup was so easy we didn't need them but care and safety directions would have been nice to have

Misc:
* The protective plastic on the frame was a pain to remove
* The plastic end caps tend to pop out, making it important to check that you have them before packing up

Overall, this is well made and convenient portable hammock that should last a very long time. I will likely like buy at least one more of these now that we know how good they are.

I LOVE this hammock. It doesn't take up that much space, its only about two feet wide after unfolding it, I'm 5'7" and its just long enough that I can fit my entire body and rest my feet up. The set up is really easy, and it fits back into the bag fairly well. I also like the way it hangs, after you start swinging it feels almost like you will be in perpetual motion. Just for reference, carrying this 20 pound bag is not really feasible, so dont plan on carrying it farther than about 20 feet. I use it inside, so I'm not sure how it would hold up outdoors.

I am 5'10" and its not quite large enough for me...I was planning on using it for camping but don't think i could sleep on it...but for laying under a tree and relaxing...its fine...very comfortable..and its solid..so I would say the product is perfect for the right size person...just an FYI if you are thinking of getting it to sleep in. I am giving 5 stars for the design and comfort...hope they make a bigger one someday. I guess if it was bigger...it would not be portable!

I ordered this hammock in blue over a year ago and have used it at the beach, outside, inside to watch TV and used it as an overnight bed. It is super easy to set up and take down. It is very sturdy and would recommend it to anyone looking for a portable hammock. In the bag it is not too heavy either. Not as light as a camping chair, but it is manageable. I would have given it 5 stars but the carry bag has started to come apart. The zipper is separating from the bag because the stitching is coming undone. My sister bought the black one, and hers is coming apart as well. Otherwise, it is very comfortable, and have had no problem with the hammock, itself. I love the freedom of being able to set up a hammock, wherever or whenever you want! This is a must for hammock lovers!

I bought this hammock as a Christmas gift for my father. He and my mother camp often and I wanted him to have a portable hammock. He opened the hammock and was able to set it up very easily. The hammock looked to be of very high quality. The ease of set up is perfect for how he will use it. The hammock also folded up very easily and fit in the carrying case perfectly. The hammock is very comfortable and has a great swing. I would highly recommend this hammock to anyone looking for a portable hammock.

I purchased this product for my boyfriend for our anniversary and was concerned at first because the reviews were so mixed but once i got it I found it easy to set up and very comfortable for me. he hasnt laid in it yet so i dont know how it will work for a bigger guy but id be happy to keep it for me!

I purchased this as a gift for a person that loves hammocks and she is very happy with it. Wonderful for quick naps. Easy to set up, lightweight but seems to be fairly strong. Probably wouldn't be ideal for someone much over 6ft. Nice carry bag, too.

My family and I LOVED this hammock, for the short time before it broke, but the good customer service from David of RVTravelMats made up for our disappointment.

We used the hammock on three camping trips and it was terrific. But on our third camping trip to Durango, Colo., in July 2011, the strings holding the hammock to the metal latch completely ripped apart and broke, resulting in my 220lb. husband hitting his head on the ground. After I contacted RVTravelMats about the issue, I was sent a replacement mesh swing at no cost. That's good customer service. I would recommend RVTravelMats and I would also recommend the hammock. I believe I was sent a defective swing and sometimes that just happens when you buy stuff. Can't wait to swing under the stars again.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas to take camping. Only complaint is that he knew what he was getting because we got an e-mail telling us right in the title that our portable hammock had been shipped. At first he said he didn't want or need a hammock, so I was going to keep it for the kids and get him something else, but once he laid in the hammock he was sold! Now I need to buy two more for the kids.

My daughter put it together in five minutes. It seemed small at first, but with a few changes to the adjustment of the bars and hooks it fit my husband just fine. We have only used it one day so far, but It appears very sturdy, and when folded it doesn't take up any more room than a portable chair. I will definitely be ordering a couple more.

Perfect for camping. It is light, durable, folds and opens easily, doesn't take up much storage space. Has the same feel as if I tied both ends to trees, which was what I was looking for. Price is more than reasonable...even with the expense of shipping.
