Makes any shoe comfortable!,
By ShinyFun (Bay Area, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: High Heel Shoe Stretcher, Women's (Apparel)
The high heel shoe stretcher is one of the best purchases I've ever made on Amazon and I've recommended it to many friends. Quality of the item is good. I wear a size 6.5 shoe and got the medium.
I bought this because I have average-size bunions at the joint of my big toe. Most shoes fit me uncomfortably tight in the toe box. Now, I can make any shoe comfortable! No more painful pinching or digging in. Both leather and synthetic shoes have stretched well. I was surprised to find the unit fit easily into both flats and heels, including some pushing the 4" heel limit. What's really great is the ability to duplicate the approximate width of your foot and the locations of any bunions. You won't be sorry with this purchase. I'm considering buying a second one so I can stretch both shoes at the same time (I've gotten best results when the stretcher is in place for a few hours at a time, so you do need to plan ahead somewhat). Side note: I also bought the flat shoe stretcher thinking I needed separate units for flats vs. heels. But, the flat shoe strecher is TOO flat and wide to fit into anything. It seems like it's designed for a man's foot rather than woman's. Quality is also quite poor. It falls apart when you try to use it.

Works well for certain heels,

This product is great for heels between 1.5 and 3", but not 4" as the description says. It will only fit in rounded toe shoes. If there is any kind of point, no matter how slight, you'd have to sand down the stretcher to make it fit. Even with these limitations, the product is still good as I haven't found anything like it on the market.

Hi-Heel Stretching,

I do a lot of work on Hi-Heels I really needed this type of Strecher to get over the Arch. This Device will actually work on bigger sizes, but I used a Belt Sander to narrow the Toe to get into more pointy Pumps, otherwise a nice unit. Hope this helps Ya, - Paolina

after widening the stretcher, it won't go back to it's original position, it was such a struggle to get it out of the shoe. my second product from the company. the first one was poorly rated too then someone from the company called me and asked me to remove my negative comment and in exchange would ship me a new product. gullible me, took out the comment, no product came. learned my lesson. stay away from this company.

I was disappointed with this product when I tried to stretch my pointy shoes and could NOT reach the toe box area. In the other shoes I stretched with a rounded toe, it worked well.

These shoe stretchers fit ok in high heel shoes eventhough sometimes the back of the shoe is deformed due to the weight of the stretcher.

I had to have surgery on my toes and it ended up making my feet just a little wider at the toes, but my heels were still narrow. I was so worried that I would never be able to get back into my adorable shoe collection and that any new shoes I bought would never fit correctly - wide enough for my toes would be too wide for my heels. I decided to give this item a try and along with Shoe Stretcher Spray it gave me back my shoes. I wear about a size 6 so I purchased the small. My heels are all 3" to 4" and I had no trouble getting it to work with any of them. However, I do not wear pointed toe shoes so that was not an issue I had to face. I found it to work exactly as it was described, that its performance is improved when I use the spray, and that it is well worth the price considering the amount of money it saved me in the long run.

I have two feet of roughly the same size, which means having ONLY ONE shoe stretcher takes twice as long to stretch a pair than having two would. I knew what I was buying - the single stretcher in the box wasn't a surprise. I've thought about buying a second one but a) my second shoe will be the right size by the time I get the 2nd stretcher and 2) that would be giving in to the MAN. We can't have that, can we.
That being said, my right shoe fits quite well now. I'm looking forward to that beautiful day when the left can join the right in harmony and lack of blisters, and we can dance down the aisles at work to the stares and concern of various coworkers. Or something like that. BTW - though this is a "high heel" stretcher, I'm using it on flat sandals. It worked on the right one just fine, and I have every confidence that it will also work on the left one, which is shaped kind of the same only backwards. Five stars if you're Long John Silver. Only four if you're me.

Well, this item does the job. It stretches your shoe. However, this item has the look and feel of something made in woodshop. The wood was cut unevenly down the center...the pin in the back squeaks when you turn it.
Like everyone on here says, it doesn't really work on pointed-shoes...but I think it works well enough. I think its an ok product...its just too expensive for the quality and the shipping is $8!

does the job,

I have been so frustrated ordering shoes in wide width only to find that they still are not wide enough. This is a new problem that I never had to deal with before. Whether its my feet, or the factories are making shoes more narrow, I was getting discouraged. Finally I ordered this shoe stretcher and the problem is solved. It is a bulky device but the comfort is worth it without having to deal with sending shoes back.
