Editorial Reviews

"High Impact" is a compilation of Yngwie's most masterful instrumental performances since 1993, including: Arpeggios From Hell, Blitzkrieg, Trilogy Suite Live, Guitar Solo, Brothers, Overtur 1622, Cantabile, Blue Asylum 1, Sky Euphoria 2, Quantum Leap 3, Red House, Badinere, Fugue and Magic City. Containing one Yngwie vocal track, this unique and amazing compilation also captures the guitar god's mind-blowing talents on a very rare live performance of Far Beyond The Sun and a never-before-released bonus track of Yngwie's interpretation of the mega hit classic "Beat It", which contains his own magical touch to the song.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worthy and balanced composition January 9, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Yngwie Malmsteen has again compiled a worthy compilation of music. With a balance of shred, classical and live music that is sure to safisfy the most loyal Malmsteen fans and new listeners alike who want to see what Yngwie is all about. The cover of Michael Jackson's Beat It however, is a dissapointment and vocally Tim Ripper Owen appears to be dissinterested in his appearance as New vocalist for Yngwie Malmsteen as cas been noticed by the lack of feel in the vocals and the annoying backing.

All up a good effort bar the bonus song which failed to get the album five stars.

3.0 out of 5 stars King Malmsteen.... January 12, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
King of recycling. Recycling Riffs that is.
I keep buying this Cats CD's because I am a huge fan. However, as of late I am a bit dissapointed. I feel I am being taken for granted. Each song I hear I think isn't this on another CD? Turns out sometimes it is the same music just different lyrics or a live version.
I don't know. I guess I want another Odessy CD. I thought Joe Lynn Turner was a good voice to Yngwie's music. Very diverse CD.
This Dude hardly ever tours in New Jersey anymore. When he does it is at some joint in Central Jersey and usually a weeknight when grown ups like me can't go.
He needs to latch on to one of those super tours that play at bigger venues. Why can't Yngwie open for Dio? It is the perfect match.
I think Yngwie and Living Colour would be a great combo. Two awesome guitar players from way different backgrounds. Malmsteen tour with Y&T.
I digress. This CD is fine just not remarkable. All Hail King Yngwie.
