5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Collection of Various Yngwie Malmsteen Instrumentals
This is more or less a Collection of some of YNGWIE'S Instrumental tracks . I like ARPEGGIOS FROM HELL and BROTHERS the most. Its worth owning if yu are a diehard YNGWIE Fan. If you are into the SHRED GUITAR GENRE of Players .... Also Seek out Releases by These Players here on AMAZON - JEFF KOLLMAN -- TONY MACALPINE -- DAVID MARTONE -- ROB JOHNSON -- JEFF LOOMIS

1.0 out of 5 stars Huge Dissappointment
First let me state I am a huge fan of Yngwie. I buy everything he puts out. Having said that I already OWN most of these songs. They are pretty much all available on other albums. I hate when guys get so stale that they have to release compilations and rehash old music ,and get you to buy it by putting on one new track. It's not the first time for Yngwie, he's done it...

5.0 out of 5 stars Practice Makes Yngwie, August 20, 2011

This review is from: High Impact (Audio CD)
No doubt about it, Malmsteen IS shredding. I know the most common downhill opinions of this guy pick on his obsession with speed and the fact that it gets boring after a song or two. This is probably true, especially if you have it playing in the background as you collect tolls on the turnpike. HOWEVER, if you are a musician with any clue as to what it takes to master an instrument AND survive the rigors of the music industry and touring, AND especially if you are a fan of the extreme upper levels of music theory as it applies to improvisation, you will soon discover this relatively young man is a genius.

He has absolutely mastered seed and every scale, mode, arpeggio and melodic ranting that exists, and while I agree if you're looking for a commercial hook like "Sweet Caroline" or not an intense fan of shred and theory you will indeed be seeking the nearest exit, the rest of us with sit (or stand) with jaw dropped, face plastered and doors blown off.

Absolutely Awesome.

First let me state I am a huge fan of Yngwie. I buy everything he puts out. Having said that I already OWN most of these songs. They are pretty much all available on other albums. I hate when guys get so stale that they have to release compilations and rehash old music ,and get you to buy it by putting on one new track. It's not the first time for Yngwie, he's done it several times before. Usually the other track is great ,however in this case, the cover of "Beat It" is practically unlistenable. Eddie Van Halen is probably having a laugh over this one. The guitar is all over the place and he's just running the same tired licks and arpeggios over and over all over the song , even where they dont belong or fit into the songs structure. The vocals are beyond horrible, it seems Yngwie never trades up in vocalists , every new one is worse than the previous.
I hated to write this but i think Yngwie needs to give it a rest and maybe try to do something new. It's a shame such a great guitarist who's contributed so much to the art has gotten so cliche and cant release something fresh.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally some Fresh Rock N' Roll Music, December 26, 2009
By
The way rock n' roll was invented and the way it was meant to be heard -- Some great tracks in this album -- from the first title, Jonestown, TSI captures your attention and doesn't let up until the tenth song, titled 'Radical'. The album builds you up .. and then releases you in Radical into the abyss -- but not without giving you some food for thought --- Just turn up the sound, rock back and enjoy! ---
