Powerful praise and worship from BTC.,
By Kerry Lehman (Jackson, Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: High & Lifted Up (Audio CD)
Recently I had the privilege of singing "We Are United" with 25-30 other guys in my church's men's chorus, and we brought the house down! More importantly, we brought joy to the Lord! What an uplifting song! If for no other reason, this CD is worth the price just to crank up cut #4 and sing along with the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. So what are you waiting for...put it in your shopping cart!

the best I ever heard,
By Peter Papers (pedopa@yahoo.com) (South Africa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: High & Lifted Up (Audio CD)
I have been a huge fan of the Brooklyn choir since I heard "Favorite song of all" and was hugely impressed by their latter additions until I heard "High and Lifted up".To me, "High and Lifted up" is a superb accumalation of their best styles and trends they as such a massive choir feel comfortable in.They actually deny the obvious(the fact that they don't have formal music training) by their unbelievable version of "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and I was quite astonished at their performance on this song and this album. They took choir singing to a new level,a level that I believe only Brooklyn Tabernacle are capable of.Please have more studio recordings,in there you are truly the best!!Their are such a variety of songs on this cd,and everyone better than the other,if that is possible...The upbeat"We are United" is perhaps the reason why God bless this choir with great music, but in my opinion the-food-for-thought comes from the more mild"So you would know"What a brilliant song and a thoughtfull perspective by the writer and emotionally sung by the choir.Everysong on this album is worth listening over and over and over and you be amazed if you listened to the words of every song and live by the words.Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, once again you have proven that you live through God and praise Him with you voices cause you have released an album that are changing people's lifes. You are the Best!!

Total Praise,
By A Customer
This review is from: High & Lifted Up (Audio CD)
Carol Cymbala and the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir has proved once again that the greatest gospel music comes from voices of men and women who've been touched by God. There is an amazing sense of integrity in this music. These people sing what they believe and give the listeners a chance to experience their faith and spirituality. If Oprah has "Change Your Life T.V." then Brooklyn Tabernacle lays claim to "Change Your Life Music".Carol Cymbala and Oliver Well's title cut "High and Lifted Up" gives the choir its greatest moments in this great album. Listening to "High and Lifted Up" one is refreshed and renewed. Cuts like "Psalm 150, Praise Ye The Lord" and "Blessed Be The Lord" are signature "Brooklyn Tab" songs gaurenteed to please. Richard Smallwood's "Total Praise" is a great opening vehicle for the album and really sets the tone. "High and Lifted Up" is total praise. The best albums are new albums which leave you hungry for more. This is one of those albums, we can only look forward to the future outings of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.
