This is a great book for young players who want to take their game to highest level in high school and prepare for soccer at the college or even professional level. It teaches some advanced moves, but its real strength is helping young players understand the discipline and love for the game it takes to play at the highest levels.

This is fantastic book for the young soccer player. The book is written to the level of a high school player and details the passion and discipline it takes to make it to the next level. The tips and drills to perform with friends and on your own,are with out a doubt, excellent and should be done on a daily basis. I highly recommend this to all youth soccer players and coaches.

High Performance Soccer gave me great insight into the world of upper level soccer. All players that aspire to bigger and better things can learn a great deal from Paul Caligiuri. The information in these pages can apply to all age groups of competitive soccer. I can't wait to get on the field and teach these new found skills. I read it from cover to cover and then went back and hilighted all of the items that I believe to be useful. The inside of the book is now flouresant yellow!

What I like about the book is the personal touch that Paul Caligiuri brings with his powerful personal story and the insights that only a player can bring. There is good material here for coaches with quality technical points throughout the book. He has a section with his favorite practice games and discusses the special rules that were used by his German Club St. Pauli for nutmegs in the 5v2. All this is good detail that reminds us of the little and simple things that bring joy to the game.

When I first began reading the book by Paul Caligiuri, I could not put it down...I found my self reading the first paragraph of each chapter until I got to the end. Then over the next week, I read the book thru again twice. I have re-read it well over 5 times and pick up something new each time. I defy any serious soccerite to read this book only once!

This book offers little more then entertainment. The author touches upon many subjects, but does it so superficially that you aren't going to see any real improvement in any aspect of your play. Instructional books in general, have very little value as you have to basically guess what the author really means. Videos and DVDs are a much better choice as they allow you to understand and see _exactly_ how something is done. So, save your money on this dud, and buy yourself a good DVD on the aspect of the game that you want to improve.
