HIGH RISE LOW DOWN probably is not a book with mass appeal. I suspect that one must be a resident of New York City--or, at the very least, a former resident--to enjoy the topic of New York City apartment living.

(It should be noted that, in New York City, unlike other areas of the United States, co-operative apartments, condominia and rental units all are referred to collectively as "apartments.")

If, however, a reader has any interest at all in this topic, HIGH RISE LOW DOWN does an excellent job of reporting about the various buildings that Manhattan considers to be "Triple A."

This report may not be an effort received with wide interest, but for those of us who are curious, the authors have written a book worth reading.
