Very helpful
This is a very good book, and offers a lot of valuable information. Unfortunately I didn't know that I had a ihgh-risk pregnancy until it was too late, and I spent three months in the hospital. This book was a major source of information and support. I appreciated having clear explanations of the disorders of pregnany. I also have the book "Days in...

This review is from: The High-Risk Pregnancy Sourcebook (Paperback)
This book is good if you are looking for comfort, it is disappointing if you are looking for information. Advantages: It gives simple and clear explanations about pregnancy complications with some background, so it can be understood by almost anyone. Disadvantages: There is hardly any precise data (for example: what level of protein is considered dangerous, what is the reoccurrence rate of pre-eclampsia, etc. ). The main advice of the book is to consult your care giver, well, I bought this book because I wanted to learn more myself and ask my doctor less questions... The book has very little additional information above a normal pregnancy guide book.

This is a very good book, and offers a lot of valuable information. Unfortunately I didn't know that I had a ihgh-risk pregnancy until it was too late, and I spent three months in the hospital. This book was a major source of information and support. I appreciated having clear explanations of the disorders of pregnany. I also have the book "Days in Waiting" by Mary McCann, which is a bedrest book that offers all the information about bedrest that this one doesn't. Between the two books, all of my concerns and questions were answered. I recommend both of them highly.
