High School Musical: El Desafío: Just great!, October 15, 2010
This review is from: High School Musical: El Desafio (Audio CD)
As a fan of the High School Musical franchise I couldn't help but purchase the argentinian version. Although most people would certainly compare this to the original movies, the comparison is helpless, because this version is so different and has a different approach. But al least both the original movies and this one have one thing in common: their fun and enyojable soundtracks! I'm going to give a brief review of the songs and a little explanation, in case you haven't watched the film (I would recommend you to watch it, you would love it!)
El Verano Terminó: 5/5: really catchy song and a great way to start the movie! This song includes all the 8 main characters talking about their hopes for the new school year.
Siempre Juntos: 4/5: this song is quite good, in the movie this musical number takes place in a rugby training session, and is about the main lead's friends trying to get him into music, althought he keeps saying that he can't dance or sing.
Doo Up: 5/5: This song is sang by Ryan and Sharpay's argentinian versions, Walter and Delfi. Walter tries to convince his sister that although they are talented, they have to study with the best musicians, but Delfi thinks she's the best and she doesn't need to study at all.
Yo Sabía: 5/5: the main balad from the movie, sang by Fer and Agus (Troy and Gabriella). It's a beautiful song and in the movie the characters really discover each other in a different way, while they play Romeo and Juliet.
A Buscar El Sol 3/5 It's a good song, but not the best here. It's the Agus/Gabriella solo and is about Agus starting to be more positive.
Hoy Todo Es Mejor 5/5: It's the Fer/Troy solo, and is also another positive song, about Fer finding the right path to follow (right after being really mean with his friends)
Superstar 5/5 Delfi and her group ("The Invisibles") participate in the school's Battle of the Bands, and Delfi learns a valuable lesson while singing this song.
Mejor Hacerlo Todos Juntos 5/5: This song has an awesome vibe and is about staying together and having fun. It's also the moment in the movie when Walter comes out of his sister's shadow and becomes his own person.
Actuar, Bailar, Cantar: 5/5. This is the last musical number in the movie and the anthem from High School Musical: La Selección, the reality show where the cast was, well, casted!
Finally there's a bonus track sang by a famous argentinian musician. Alejandro Lerner, "Ya Es Hora De Brillar", this song is shown with the credits, and it's also very positive.
As a whole this soundtrack is really good, and if you enjoyed the HSM music as much as I did, then you should definitely check this out.
