Good product, but doesn't work for me,

These window locks are good, but don't work with my windows. I have new double paned windows and the runner where the lock should attach is to wide. Only purchase if your runner is under 1/4".

These little gems work very well! I don't remember where my Mother had bought them, but we used them in a house where we never had any problems up until it went up for sale, at which point they did stand up to the test of a Burgler! I also had one on my bedroom window that did not have a screen, and I was not able to force the window open when I had locked my keys inside! In my new apartment, they are auctually fairly visible if you stare into the window with the blinds open--we all know a visible deterant is an added security precautian! As a Security Supervisor, I would also recommend window bars or even just a cut or broken off piece of wood. The screw can be tightened as tight as you can squeeze it too. Hope this review has helped you! (Can't go wrong for the price) :)

Not much to say about window locks except that they do the trick and fit on all of my windows. For extra security, a representative from a glass company advised me to put one on the bottom and one on the top so that it's level.

Great idea, but should be adjustable to fit all window sills. I bought several of these, and none fit.

This is a simple and effective product if you have the right style of window. I would caution you though that it will leave an impression on any plastic or soft wood frames. I have a plastic window track and the Window Lock doesn't hold to it very well especially if any moisture gets on the window.

Just what I wanted a simple window lock which limited how much a window can be opened. It works on both my horizontal and vertical sash windows. I was concerned when I learned that theives can easily defeat a standard window lock by pushing the window frame near the standard lock and separating the frames enough to defeat the standard lock. I wanted to still be able to open my windows for ventilation. This window lock lets me limit the window opening so that a thief could still defeat my standard lock but then could not open the window enough to get in.

... this will only work if it can grasp onto a rail that's about 1/8 inch or less. In other words, the opening is pretty small.

Easy and quick to install and they feel secure - but I always double check when I open the windows and sometimes they need tightening. I still recommend them.

My son needed locks for his sliding windows, and these were quicker than going to still more hardware stores (we tried 5!) to find them. Also cheaper. Arrived in a couple of days. Amazon is SO much more than books!Heather Banks Gaithersburg, MD

I bought this as a safety item, to prevent my kids from opening their bedroom windows, since we live in a high building. The picture is a bit enlarged, as they are small, almost unnoticeable when you install them, which is marvelous cause you cant tell theyre there. As an extra precaution, I installed 2 in each window, one on the bottom and another one on top, its the best and cheapest solution if you want to control kids from opening windows and sliding doors....
