Also, the protective cover on the hose is a nice touch.

I love to walk in the 100 degree weather, so I love my backpack water pack and this works great with my High Sierra ones.

So I did a pressure test and barely squeezed it, and it leaked.

If you are planning to be outside in the sun for a few hours i would suggest investing in the hydration bladder. The bladder is made of a very durible plastic material. I personally use the bladder for airsofting and the hydration pack has been hit with plastic bbs multiple times and no damage is visible on the bladder. Overall i am satisfied with the mouth vaulve and tube. The mouth peice has a locking switch that enables/disable water flow. The tube is very thick and durible with a thermal cover protecting the tube from freezing in colder environment.

If you plan on hiking or being outdoors for about 2-4 hours i would suggest the 1.5L pack but if you are going to be out for over 6 hours i would purchase the 3 liter pack. Please check your carrier if you can carry a larger bladder.

I bought the 1.5L and the 2L. They both work quite well. My High Sierra hiking pack has a horizontal pocket inside that fits the reservoir perfectly. They hold the designated amount of water if not more. Simply bite or squeeze the "nipple" at the end of the hose and the water comes flowing out either into your mouth or a cup. Once they get low a little pressure is needed to extract the last of the water if you're not biting and sucking the water out. Also, the protective cover on the hose is a nice touch. Not a bad deal at all for the price.

It does not taste like plastic as listed in other reviews, if you know how to wash something before you use it, it wont taste like plastic. I tuck it in a webbed pocket in my vest and run the tube a set of fasteners and it "quenches" my thirst whenever I need to. It's worth the money if you do paintball, airsoft, hike, run marathons, cycle, whatever, and have a bag or something to put it in, get this, its great and worth the money. I get shot in the back plenty of times and it does leave pellet marks or holes, so its very durable. If you need more water storage I recommend buying a higher capacity for a couple dollars more, but this is all I need. BUY THIS!!

Just as title states. it leaks under pressure. I ordered two, both leaks. I needed it for backpacking and the load tends to put pressure on the hydration reservoirs. So I did a pressure test and barely squeezed it, and it leaked. Giving 1 star. Returning.

Fits in my tactical vest fine. The rubbery smell is strong and the taste is pretty rubbery. I cleaned it with baking soda once and It helped a little. A few more washed should have it under control.

Overall good product. No leaks.

Bought this for day hiking and is my first water bladder. I knew that they tend to have a plastic taste and this one is not an exception. I was slightly nervous that this might leak everywhere as I have never had one before but I had no problems with this at all. I picked it because the others I saw were bigger than what I had wanted. Would have no problem buying the same one if I needed another. *TIP* *TIP* I mixed 2 tbsp of baking soda in with warm water for a few hours as suggested by others and it actually did help with the taste of the water. Some people said you could put gatorade or coffee in but it wasn't recommended.

The bladder looks well made, but I simply can't get rid of the rubber smell.
Maybe it doesn't bother some people, but for me it makes this almost unusable. I can only keep water in for short periods of time (couple of hours tops) before it "goes bad". I tried bleach, baking soda, let it air dry, but nothing helped.

I was excited to have this so I could drink from my backpack - so I brought it on a long trip (Peru).
I had prewashed it before the trip. Once I filled it (bottled expensive water in another country) I was disappointed
that the water tasted like plastic! I have no idea how to get that taste out and if it will ever go away. It appears the longer the water sits in the container the more the plastic taste. If you drink it right after filling it might be ok.
