We ordered two of these bags for a cruise we were taking. We had never been on a cruise and were told that there was not much room in the staterooms for storing bags. So we purchased these so that would flatten down and fit under the bed. They worked very well.

Several thing you need to be aware of though.

1. If you fill this bag completely, you will be over the allowed size for air travel. For example if this bag was filled to it's dimensions it would cost $100.00 for oversized baggage on US Airways.

2. Filling it only to the maximum allowed dimensions with just clothing for a trip to Alaska put the bags right at the 50# limit for weight. So special care is needed if flying with these bags with all the new airline restrictions.

3. The last thing that was annoying was that the bags would not stand up. If you were wheeling them around you have to lay them down flat.

Over all the bags worked out fine. They fit under the bed nicely and all the items that we packed stayed in place in the bags. Nothing was badly wrinkled or crushed into a corner.

I have used this bag on two occassions and the stiching on the outside has started to rip.I t is a big bag which means i used the full capacity of the bag but not extraordinarily so.The weight of the bag when filled is not terribly heavy,about what you would expect from a bag that size when filled,about 30lbs or 40lbs.

I have used high sierra bags before and my main travelling bag currently is a high sierra bag and I love it,which is why I bought this one.

Perhaps it is an issue with this particular bag and not the entire line.

I've done a lot of traveling in my day. Been to every continent but Antarctica and used to be gone several months out of the year. So I've had my share of bags. This one pretty much beats em all. I've used hard-side, soft-side and combination bags. I really like this one.

When I first opened it, I was totally impressed by the quality of the materials - the bag material, the solid (not cheesy plastic) wheels, the substantial zippers. Dang, this is well made! When I opened the compartments, I was even more impressed. You can fit a WHOLE LOTTA stuff in this bag.

I used it for all my clothes and my portable studio for a wedding. Yep, lights, lightstands, cords, flashes, cameras, tripods - the whole shebang. And that was in the bottom zippered compartment. The top held my clothes, my camera bags and all my other traveling stuff. Now, it was heavy as heck. And I'm not sure I'd trust airport gorillas with my camera gear in here, but for me to haul EVERYTHING, it was perfect.

Gonna take this on a plane? Better be a premier member of a travel group or expect to pay extra for the weight and possibly the size. Huge sucker. Going camping? Need a carry all for a remote shoot? This is the bag for you!

Really - I can't find any faults and I can't say enough good. Just get it!

The bag looks great and is well constructed. Bottom compartment is handy as are the end compartments.

Yhe major problems is that the bag is not waterproof!!! Absolutely unbelievable!! This replaced a bag that quit on me part way through a trip. That bag was a $40 Costco special. It never leaked!! I travel the world and have owned several rolling duffel bags. None of them leaked, even in London downpours.

I left Philly last Thursday in the rain and transferred in Cnicago where it was nice out. Arrived in Phoenix where it was sunny and 80 deg. My belongings were soaked! My travel books (purchased from Amazon, of course) maps, travel stuff all soaked! It wasn't just the bottom compartment. My good silk ties were in an end compartment and they were wet.

I am returning it, it is useless.

This ended up being larger than I had expected. But worked well with the airlines. I would buy one size smaller next time. I don't have enough clothing to fill it.

Would be good for 2 peoples clothing.

this was a very well constructed piece of luggage. unfortunately, it is to large for every airline. it exceeds maximum dimensions by quite a bit. if you are planning on filling this up, plan on paying oversized fees. i returned it and got the 30" bag instead.

This is a great bag! It can hold a piece of the world! It rolled well and was very stylish; a little pricey, but it seemed like it would be with u for the long haul. Purchased it for a college student approx. 600 miles from home and who will do a lot of travel over the years. The drop bottom was an added bonus, nice for suits or shirt or shoes...

This duffel bag was used on two different motorcycle trips to ship gear to the riding destination. It easily held two motorcycle jackets, two pairs of pants, a helmet, several pairs of shoes and boots, and still had room for other things. The zippered bottom compartment was good for the boots and shoes to keep them away from the clothes. The wheels made it very easy to get through the airport with this very heavily packed bag.

I am a big fan of "soft luggage", but when purchasing this I also needed the size and portability of a larger, wheeled bag. The High Sierra is an attractive, extremely durable piece of luggage. There are plenty of extra compartments and a ton of room inside. The frugal packer could live a month out of this thing! Can be carried like a duffel or wheeled when packed full. I highly recommend this product; I've taken it on many trips and it's never let me down.

Very well designed and built. I used this as my only bag for all my gear for a wedding photo shoot. Tripods, lights, cameras, lenses plus clothes for three days. This is just a superb bag! The bottom section keeps clothes wrinkle free or can handle multiple lighting gear like three light stands and two tripods. I took a week long driving trip and kept all my clothes in the bottom section alone.

Word of warnimg - it's considered oversize by most airlines and will result in nasty charges. You'll pay more in one round trip to take this with you than you will for the bag itself. SAD.
