5.0 out of 5 stars Great bag, great price!
This bag is a great deal, and I recommend it highly. The quality is very good, including the zippers, and thick canvas-like material. It is also rubber backed for an element of waterproofing. The handle retracts nicely, and the rubber wheels are wonderful when you have a heavy load.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, not great, January 14, 2011

I travel all over the world for work, and I'm away for 3-4 weeks at a time. I have to carry a variety of clothing types and shoes: comfortable, office clothes and work coveralls with hardhat and steel-toe boots. This bag will definitely hold it all, but you can easily pack over the airline weight limits. It rolls well and it is durable in all respects.

Drawbacks, which are annoying but can be dealt with are:
1. Bag does NOT stand on its end well.
2. Bag tends to tip or roll over to one side when pulling it behind you
2. No dividers in the main compartment, and no straps inside or out to compress the load so it doesn't shift inside.

I have since done much more research and found a bag from the same manufacturer which overcomes the drawbacks:

This bag is a great deal, and I recommend it highly. The quality is very good, including the zippers, and thick canvas-like material. It is also rubber backed for an element of waterproofing. The handle retracts nicely, and the rubber wheels are wonderful when you have a heavy load.

The size of this pack is a huge plus. It will hold and enormous amount of clothing/gear and this is especially important these days, because the Airlines are charging for extra bags. This large bag allows you to only check one bag, thus saving you money. Yet, it is big enough to hold the equivalent of what may fit into two typical suitcases. This assumes, one suitcase is the larger size and the other is a mid or smaller size.

So, I say this bag is a winner for many reasons. Choose the color that suits you, and bon voyage!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bag!, April 10, 2009

We bought this because we had a ton of stuff to take on a trip to Oregon and with a 1-year-old, we needed something big that rolled. It was perfect! It fit everything we needed and ended up being under the 50-pound limit with the airlines.

I bought this for my son for taking his clothes to college. It definitely held everything he needed to take - we didn't but his suit and dress clothes in it because we took them on hangars, but other than that it fit everything! As for sturdiness I can't say because he's only used it once but it looks to be sturdy enough. Can't beat it for the price!

I bought this bag to go on RAGBRAI, a week long bicycle track across Iowa. The bag was jammed to the max, was in several downpours and was tossed into and out of trucks for the entire week. The bag came away looking brand new. Wonderful deal.

2.0 out of 5 stars Used only once, September 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this item because of all the good reviews, especially stating it's good quality. One of the end pockets split the first time I used it, and it wasn't even full or that heavy. It rolls easy and packs a lot of stuff, but my 40 minute flight was more than it could take.

This really is a nicely designed bag. However after saying that, it is really too big for me to pack and then expect to load into the car and get it out again. If you have the strength to handle a large bag, I would not hesitate purchasing it. If you are a 64 year old lady who is planning a road trip, I would not get this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sorely Disappointed, May 1, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was really disappointed with this bag. The previous High Sierra bag I had survived two years of abusive world wide travel. I ordered this one because the other was looking a little ragged but still functional. It lasted one trip. The ends ripped on both sides and the bottom supports sagged. I won't buy again. BAD Bags will be the next choice because I have seen alot of them and the people I have talked to love them. They say it is the toughest bag they have owned. Sorry Sierra you really dropped in qaulity. Never again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy construction, March 10, 2011

The main compartment zipper ripped away from the bag fabric on the first trip that I used it. I use mainly soft shell baggage and this is the quickest I've had a failure on luggage.

4.0 out of 5 stars lots of room, carriage slightly less strong than you'd like, August 13, 2010

this bag fits a large amount of stuff, which is great. i have three large knapsacks of photo equipment in it. it's great to be able to wheel around that much stuff rather than carry it. it works well. my only criticism would be that the support system that allows you to slide it up or down stairs (the ones attached to the wheels) feels like it could be a little stronger given the amount of weight it's carrying. but that said, i think for the price it's a very solid purchase.
