I purchased this case based on the very positive reviews. I was impressed with this bag for the first four months. However, while pulling the handle up normally, one of the telescoping struts separated from the handle. While I travel a lot, I consider my use normal, not abusive. The handle is plastic and it cracked very easily around the screw hole. It appears that if they added another 15 cents worth of plastic around the screw holes on the handle, it would be quite reliable. Another design change that may help is to run the screws through both sides of the extensions. The current design, however, I cannot recommend. I would try to epoxy it back together, but I can't get to the release mechanism. I contacted the company and they said I was outside the warrantee period, so it was just a waste of money.

Product bad, Amazon good. The zipper to one of the large compartments broke on this piece of luggage after two uses, making the whole thing useless. Thankfully, Amazon took it back for a full refund, no questions asked; and that was eight months after the purchase. Amazon rocks!

Case measures 22in (including wheels, but excluding the top soft handle) x 14.25in (across hard protectors at bottom) x more than 10in. It might be possible to get it down to close to 9in (required by some airlines) by leaving the lower front compartment completely empty. The big disappointment was the wimpy expansion feature, which increases the bag depth by maybe 2in at the top tapering to ZERO near the bottom. Generally the bag is well made and light, but mine had a very tight spot on the main zip. At first I really had to struggle to move the zip past this spot, but it had started to loosen up by the time I returned the bag.

Terrific rolling suitcase. It fits nicely into overhead luggage bins, yet can pack in a week's worth of clothes. It's nice and light and rolls well. Love the pockets on the front and stand-out colors. For the price, it can't be beat.

This suitcase is solidly built and very light weight. It fits the most common dimensions for carry on size limits. We've taken our first trip with the bags (orange for me and green for husband--we like colors that make it easy to spot our bags) and really liked their handling and how much we could pack into each bag.

To me the critical part of a suitcase is the zippers--I do not want to have to yank them open or be afraid they'll break every time I use the bag. The zippers on these bags are decent quality and I'm happy with them.

These are a good value for the price here on Amazon and they seem like they'll hold up well for our travels.

I bought this to replace an Eagle Creek carry-on that now exceeds airline regulations. I was amazed at how light the High Sierra luggage is, and how well made at a fraction of the price I would pay for Eagle Creek. I flew Delta (no problem fitting it in the overhead bin) on a multi-state trip. The bag was handled by taxicab drivers, airline staff, and several kind gentlemen who helped me get it into and out of the overhead bins (I'm short!) and survived without a ding. The wheels roll smoothly and quietly. I love the two-position handle, which fits my short frame. The placement of grips on the top, side and bottom made it easy to pick up. I'm pleased to learn that luggage this light can be of such high quality. Absolutely no complaints about this carry-on.

Very light and great build quality. I got the slightly subdued red/orange color and it stands out nice at baggage claim. I love this bag. Nothing more to say.

This is the second High Sierra 22" bag I have purchased from Amazon. The first was purchased 3 years ago and held up great until the pull handle snapped. I purchased the second bag to replace the first and was disappointed to see that they had changed the wheels to regular plastic instead of the in-line wheels on my prior bag. The bag with the in-line wheels is still available but double the price. Hopefully, this bag will last as long or longer than the prior bag. Fairly lightweight and easy to place in overhead compartment.

we needed replacement carry-on bag that was very light and durable for a lot of flying. We had some luggage that was named featherlight but these empty bags were heavy so we needed something we could fill and still lift into the overhead compartment of planes. These did a great job on the last six flights both carry-on and when checked held up to the typical abuse for checked bags. I was very impressed and will buy another set to replace older bags.

I travel about every other week and want a carryon that gives me the maximum volume I can without getting "gate challenged" in terms of size. This carry-on fits the bill. I've used it for 4 years now. I've had "22 inch" carryons that either cheated so much in size that I have had to check them (it does not happen a lot but does happen) OR other "22 inch" carryons that fit 20% less stuff than this one (e.g. most spinners). Its soft-sided giving you some give and making it easier to manage at security. Its components have been sturdy over the years, though the ball race in the wheels is beginning to sound a little off. It wears well, still looking good after years of abuse. It has one big cavity so I can fit things in how I like.

Some note that the zippers are hard to move in the corners. I found this problem went away after a few openings and closings.

The only negatives is that the expansion zipper does not give a lot of extra room when you need it outside an airline AND when really stuffed full it can be a little hard to zip.

BTW, in my experience the one place in the world you dont want to take 22" carryons is Australia. Qantas does not permit them and the luggage police will stop you about half the time.
