This is not the most comfortable backpack. If you want to go backpacking in the mountains, look elsewhere. But if you are on that kind of trip where you know you will have to climb stairs, board ships, hop on and off buses, this is ideal, because it leaves your hands free in all those situations where you'd normally have to lift and carry a suitcase. It has a detachable small backpack which is also very handy-you can leave your stuff in the hotel and still have the convenience of a backpack for water etc. It's much more convenient than a suitcase.

I bought this for my husband who travels every week. He's in construction, so he doesn't need anything fancy. He likes this better than a duffel bag. It's sturdy and the extra backpack is a plus for toiletries and extra items like belts, snacks, etc. I'm glad I bought it for him. I will definitely buy the smaller version since this one is too big for a carry-on. Overall, very happy with the product.
