This was my first High Sierra purchase. I recently borrowed on from a friend for my vacay back to the states. It was awesome. This bag is very sterdy, and handles being thrown out of helicopters rather well. The fact that it can roll in airports, and then be put on like a back pack for walking up stairs and through rocks and sand is perfect.
The shipping was outstanding. The estimated date that I was to recieve the bag was a little too far, and I needed it within the week and a half of the purchase. I contacted the people at luggage guru, and they were able to ship it to me within the first day or two of my purchase. It got to me the 2 days before I was supposed to leave. I ordered it on the 28th of February and I recieved it on the 10th of March, which sounds like a longer time than needed, but I was in Iraq. Mail normally takes 2-3 weeks to get out there to us, so that shows you how much these guys were willing to try to work with my request.
Overall, great product from a great company with an awesome group of people to see that it got to me in a very timely manner.

Everybody else that reviewed this and liked it was right. This bad boy went from Md.to New York to four places in Italy and back. Sometimes in a plane and others in cars and trains. It got thrown all over the place.

The wheels worked like a charm and still do. All straps are in great shape. I crammed more (you know what) in this bag than I needed and still made the 50lb. limit for the airline.

Bought this for my daughter who went on a 6 wk trip to France. It was perfect. Just the right size, fit a ton and just made weight at the airport. Easy to pull although it tips over if stood upright. Good value.

Bought this for my daughter to take to England for graduate school, and she found it very versatile. It holds a lot, and even though it doesn't stand up by itself, she didn't have a problem with it as she traveled. She likes the fact that it collapses almost flat to store beneath her bed at school, since storage is at a premium in her dormitory. She is also able to use it as an under-the-bed container so she can store some infrequently-used items that would have overfilled her dresser drawers. Items stay covered and clean, and she just rolls it out when she needs something. She also appreciated that the piece itself didn't use up much of the 50-lb weight limit per suitcase that the airline allowed. Since she was primarily trying to transport enough clothing for 18-months abroad, the soft sides weren't an issue -- she also took a regular suitcase and placed her more fragile items in that.

I got the bag for a backpacking/normal travel experience and it is perfect!! I can wheel it in big airports and carry it as a backpack when I need to. It's a great size and super comfortable to use!

I bought this for a trip to Italy. Very easy to handle, carry, and stuff. I did not use the backpack straps, but it was nice to know they were there. Each compartment has two zippers, so you can use qwik-ties to shut them securely. Wheels work quite well over cobblestone streets. My only complaint, it will not stand upright.

I travel alot and I went through many bags before is got this one.
It is VERY well put-together, has all the options you would want. I sometimes carry alot of luggage, so I love the back straps, they allow me to manage other stuff by eliminating the need to use my hands. I have since bought other High Sierra bags. I love them all!!

I purchased this bag for my daughter to take on her teen tour. It is spacious enough to hold a weeks worth of summer clothing and all her toiletries with room to spare. The zippers and wheels are smooth, and the bag is very durable. The only thing I would have liked the bag to have is inside straps to hold the clothes in place when the bag is not completely full. Otherwise, it is a terrific travel bag.

my daughter is going on a 5 week trip. she is limited to a total of 50 lbs of luggage. it needs to be on wheels and, at times, she needs to be able to carry it. this piece is perfect. there is plenty of room in the main compartment for all of her clothing and hba's. side pockets and extra storage areas are an added bonus. this luggage is sturdy and very well constructed. there is not one thing about it that i don't like!

I bought this bag for my summer vacation last year, and it lasted exactly one trip. By the time I got home, the handle would no longer retract into its sleeve. My husband took it apart and found that a single plastic/nylon part had broken, making the whole bag useless as a rolling duffel. That part probably cost a few cents, and probably could have been made better for only a few cents more, but for want of that one essential part, the whole thing was useless. Maddening. I won't buy this brand again.
