4.0 out of 5 stars Adorable, April 1, 2010

Gianna is kind of stupid for not believing Franco about the crazy ex-girlfiend, but this is Helen Bianchin book, so that is the norm. I adored this book because you get glimpses into what Franco is thinking and there were bits and moments where Franco was so sweet and loving to Gianna, like in the beginning when she is about to leave and he asks, "Are you forgetting something?" and kisses her. Swoon!

Also there was a funny little side romance between the argumentative grandparents. Gianna, unlike other heroines in HP books, actually had a friend with whom to interact and a job so that was great to see. Usual HB's heroines are usually so closed off from the rest of the world.

The heroes are the reason why I love HP books so much and this book showed the hero's loving actions more so of course I love it. Newer HP books definitely show a little bit into what the heroes' thoughts (more I would say!) and more sweet moments between the couple instead of fighting or having sex. I'd wish Helen would stop w/ the crazy ex-girlfriends though.

2.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy premise., April 20, 2009
This review is from: The High-Society Wife (Harlequin Presents) (Mass Market Paperback)
From the back: Gianna and Franco Giancarlo had gone into their convenient society marriage with their eyes wide open. They acted the happy coupld to create an alliance between their powerful, wealthy families - and dispel media gossip . . . A year later, things have changed: their marriage may not be real, but Franco's passion for his wife is . . . and Gianna has fallen in love with her husband!

Review - Would have been nice if there was more story to the before the realization of "I love you" by the wife. Seemed a little flimsy and such that she could not seem to trust him. Not sure upon what grounds she based that upon. Even if it was just a marriage of convenience when did he ever say that he wouldn't keep to his marriage vows. Of course it didn't help that she was so quick to believe an ex-girlfriend of his either. Bit flimsy premise.

3.0 out of 5 stars same story line, November 17, 2010

I sometimes wonder why I continue to buy Helen Bianchin's book. I guess I keep thinking it will be different from the previous book. But not in case. Same crazy ex-lover, same dialogue, same everything. Ms Bianchin's heroine is always so savy in the business world but so totally dumb in her private life. Franco and the grandparents were the only ones saving this book from being a waste of time to read.
