Book Description

August 1, 1990 0471623075 978-0471623076 1
Introduces the physical principles and operational characteristics of high speed semiconductor devices. Intended for use by advanced students as well as professional engineers and scientists involved in semiconductor device research, it includes the most advanced and important topics in high speed semiconductor devices. Initial chapters cover material properties, advanced technologies and novel device building blocks, and serve as the basis for understanding and analyzing devices in subsequent chapters. The following chapters cover a group of closely related devices that includes MOSFETs, MESFETs, heterojunction FETs and permeable-base transistors, hot electron transistors, microwave diodes and photonic devices, among others. Each chapter is self-contained and features a summary section, a discussion of future device trend, and an instructional problem set.

4.0 out of 5 stars A canon like Dr. Streetman's Solid state electronic devices, April 23, 2000
By
This review is from: High-Speed Semiconductor Devices (Hardcover)
As a professor at an electronics engineering professor, I found this book very suitable for a textbook for a graduate class. This book covers almost all the important issues in modren high-speed semiconductor devices such as: FET's and BJT's, RTD's, NDR devices, and photonic devices. It deals with microwave operating frequencies, avalable power levels, noise figures, and application examples of those said devices quite thoroughly. I think it could be regarded as another canon in the solid state electronics engineering area like Dr. Ben G. Streetman's "Solid state electronic devices" since the same scopes are dealt with in this book with almost the same order but with more depth.
