5.0 out of 5 stars Sinister Goings On. June 26, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I very much enjoyed this little story by M A Comley. Although the story was a ghost story, it was light and interesting. This wasn't the kind of story that will keep you tossing and turning all night, but it was quite delightful. Since it was a short story I can't say much more without spoiling the story. The story had a feeling of truthfulness. I didn't feel it was exaggerated or written to mislead--it was just a factual account of a rather strange event in the life of M A Comley.

5.0 out of 5 stars A nice light read July 3, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a short but true story about the spirits residing in Mel's house. I loved the candour in which Mel told the true story. Some of the things she wrote about were deeply personal. All in all it was a lovely peek into the life of Mel Comley!

4.0 out of 5 stars What an interesting little story. November 20, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed this short story. The reader was led through the whole series of incidents very well. I could feel myself ducking at the idea of mowing an orchard. The story was interesting and was not over dramatised, which suited the content well. This made the tale have a documentary feel, rather than the pacing you would expect from fiction. If I have any criticism, it is that the moving on of the spirit was not described in the narrative, which was a disappointment.

I think Mel published this story as a hook to get readers into her other books, and in that it succeeded very well. There were no typos that I could find in the piece and the formatting was good. A welcome change nowadays. It looks like I'll be reading some of her fiction in the near future.
