I am an interior designer who specializes in glamorous, modern interiors of restaurants, spas, boutiques and luxury residences. The style of my work is very Luxe modern with lots of influences from the best designers from the 40's through the 70's. I absolutely adore Hollywood Regency style when done right. When I found this book on Amazon, I was completely drawn to it because of the gorgeous cover and the name. The binding of the book is absolutely stunning with its embossed black damask pattern in cloth binding. The edges and the title of the book are finished in a stunning gold foil. It truly is gorgeous to look at and would make a great table accent, but the content was a huge disappointment. In my opinion, more than half of the interiors in this book are not designed well at all. They are over-the-top, Kelly Wearstler want-to-be interiors done without the same sophisticated design sensibility that Kelly has. The absolute worst thing about this book is that the designers are posing in just about every photo. There are probably 30 images of themselves all dressed up as if they were celebrities, which makes it extremely obnoxious to even flip through the pages.

I'm a little disappointed in this book. Although I haven't had the chance to read this book thoroughly, what little I did read seemed to be mainly about the designers. I was looking for more pictures and examples.

i just love this book I have had it for well over a year but revisit often, just looking again yesterday i thought it was worth a small review - not only is it a beautiful coffee table book in its own right it is full of inspiration and small tips on space size combining fabrics etc. also being someone who can be slightly eccentric for fun it is nice to see how it can combine with a love of nice surroundings and interior design and how it all fits together in life

definitely my favourite design book and designers and has helped me get my living room inspiration together ...gives me asmail on my face just looking at it which a book should do :)
