I am an interior designer who specializes in glamorous, modern interiors of restaurants, spas, boutiques and luxury residences. The style of my work is very Luxe modern with lots of influences from the best designers from the 40's through the 70's. I absolutely adore Hollywood Regency style when done right. When I found this book on Amazon, I was completely drawn to it because of the gorgeous cover and the name. The binding of the book is absolutely stunning with its embossed black damask pattern in cloth binding. The edges and the title of the book are finished in a stunning gold foil. It truly is gorgeous to look at and would make a great table accent, but the content was a huge disappointment. In my opinion, more than half of the interiors in this book are not designed well at all. They are over-the-top, Kelly Wearstler want-to-be interiors done without the same sophisticated design sensibility that Kelly has. The absolute worst thing about this book is that the designers are posing in just about every photo. There are probably 30 images of themselves all dressed up as if they were celebrities, which makes it extremely obnoxious to even flip through the pages.

I'm a little disappointed in this book. Although I haven't had the chance to read this book thoroughly, what little I did read seemed to be mainly about the designers. I was looking for more pictures and examples.

i just love this book I have had it for well over a year but revisit often, just looking again yesterday i thought it was worth a small review - not only is it a beautiful coffee table book in its own right it is full of inspiration and small tips on space size combining fabrics etc. also being someone who can be slightly eccentric for fun it is nice to see how it can combine with a love of nice surroundings and interior design and how it all fits together in life

definitely my favourite design book and designers and has helped me get my living room inspiration together ...gives me asmail on my face just looking at it which a book should do :)

I love this outstanding book. It`s on my coffee table and I enjoy thumbing through it, sometimes just to look at the spectacular pictures, some take my breath away! Other times I like to reread the text along with the illustrations, to enjoy the theory of design, how they use it to make the areas comfortable, inviting, and exciting. There is so much there. This book is packed with brilliant and bold ideas. This team remodeled our home in the San Diego area several years ago, and my husband and I continue to delight in the design elements they introduced and of which we never tire.

I find it appropriate that Jaime and Ron include pictures of themselves. We are watching them at work. We see them tuned in, inspired, in wonder in a variety of settings. They thus share themselves and their thoughts in their own charming manner.

I love these interior designers! This book is so inspirational on so many levels. The colors they pick for their rooms and furniture combos are amazing. Everything is original in their design choices. No cookie cutter "Real Simple" decorating tips but more like how to find "jewelry for you home" or go on a "journey for the object." The designers, Jaime and Ron are young and fresh in their style mixing old Hollywood glam, vintage and retro. They take you through their homes and kind of play dress up in each home. It's really cool and imaginative - like each house in a scene from some play or film that you loved but can't recall which one. It's about character and style just like old style Los Angeles. The photographs are gorgeous and each home is so unique and hip. You will want to copy everything. Someone bought this book for me for Christmas, and I have had it out on my living room table ever since so I can look at it all the time. And, the book isn't all just beautiful photos - but the designers take you through each home (many celebrities) and tell you how they designed it, what inspired them and what to do. It is also philosophical and practical. I love this book. It was an amazing gift!

What I love about this book is that the scenes aren't just like museum shots like in most books, but it shows you how to create and how to live and use great design. It is a great look into what motivates these designers and I really like the message. This book was given to me as a present and I look at it all the time. BTW, I don't see this as a book about Hollywood Regency design. I don't see much of that style. What I see is projects that really reflect the architecture and lifestyle of California. These designers don't box themselves into a style but rather a more general modern/vintage. I love it!

This book is spectacular. It looks amazing on a coffee table and people are drawn to it. It's a beautiful book! But it's also a helpful guide for the do it yourself designer! The text and tips are very helpful and work with the amazing photos to present a picture of their design aesthetic! It's also a wonderful gift!
