4.0 out of 5 stars state of the art in 1989, December 12, 2006
This review is from: High Temperature Superconductivity: Proceedings : The Los Alamos Symposium, 1989 (Hardcover)
The conference proceedings give a good synopsis of the state of the understanding of high Tc superconductors in 1989. The papers span a range of approaches. Many are experimental results, of the various copper oxides. But there are also numerical studies, like simulations of the two dimensional Hubbard model. Along with speculations on strong coupling modes or what constitutes the normal metallic phase of CuO planar materials.

Some papers are unavoidably on phenomenology, as when flux motion is discussed. Reflects still much unknown about basic processes.
