Grass-Fed Butter Oil is really amazing. It is harvested from pasture fed cows when the CLA is at its highest amount. If the milk you purchase is not from pasture fed cows I'd look somewhere else. Feed-lot cattle fed grains and beans rather than pasture put out a far far inferior product. Cows were meant to feed on grasses. The chlorophyll and vitamins and minerals in the live grasses are transferred to the milk. From this milk the butter oil is separated. This is where the High Vitamin Butter Oil from NutraPro comes in. They have all the science behind their product.
This butter oil is not like Ghee. Ghee is made by using high heat which destroys many of the good qualities of the oil. The Butter Oil NutraPro puts out uses very low heat.

After I had a tooth pulled after it was crowned I wanted to find out why I was getting cavities. It was found that those who use fermented cod liver oil along with butter oil (they both work synergistically together best) have less cavities and that cavities can even reverse themselves! If you want to know about that get "Cure Tooth Decay" by Ramiel NagelCure Tooth Decay: Remineralize Cavities and Repair Your Teeth Naturally with Good Food [Second Edition]. It is a little expensive but how much are your teeth worth? It has loads of great information.

Anyway, you can google NutraPro and read all about it. The owner is very helpful too.

I do not work for NutraPro nor do any of my family or friends work for the company. I am just a very satisfied customer! :-)

The Nutrapro website states that this product is made from PASTEURIZED milk. This means that the Wulzen Factor (anti-stiffness factor) is absent from this butter oil, which is the main reason I consume raw butter oil. There are other nutrients in butter oil which are worthwhile and which are not sensitive to the heat of pasteurization, but I think they can be found in grass-fed pasteurized butter which costs less. Grass-fed RAW butter is also available in some states with its Wulzen Factor intact, but the taste and smell of raw butter are unpleasant to me. I like the taste and smell of most other raw dairy products, though. Raw butter oil does not taste great either but one can swallow it quickly. I will stick with Green Pastures Blue Ice butter oil, which is raw and comes from cows that eat rapidly growing grass, which has the most nutrients. I get mine at renewed health with free shipping. Nutrapro seems to be a conscientious company and it's good they are honest about their butter oil. They do not make any claims for it containing the Wulzen Factor. If you visit their website make sure you get to the right one. NutraPro is a small company selling only a few products. There is another website pretending to be NutraPro.

Update 3/30/13
I visited the NutraPro website today and they have added a statement saying that their oil contains the Wulzen factor. I wonder how much of it survives their pasteurization process, though.

Update 4/15/14
I have not been able to afford to buy the Green Pasture Butter Oil since 2012 due to working only part-time since then.

I am happy to review for you today a high quality product that is super good for you - High Vitamin Butter Oil (Grass fed & Organic) 12 Oz.

First I want to address the confusion surrounding use of the terms butter oil, ghee, and clarified butter. I admit I, myself, am confused as to what makes the difference between the three, since they seem to all look alike and be essentially the same.

According to NutraPro, who provided me with a jar of their delicious-tasting butter oil, there is a difference between butter oil and ghee/clarified butter, and "it's in the manufacturing."

NutraPro Butter Oil is manufactured by extracting it from grass-fed certified organic cream at low temperature and high speed to preserve nutrients, taste, and aroma, leaving a pleasant taste, not a nutty one which indicates high heat was used in manufacturing.

Although NutraPro's certification shows their Butter Oil is pasteurized, don't be wary. The Weston A. Price foundation has said pasteurization doesn't harm the fats, but the proteins. Remember, there are no milk proteins left in butter oil. The "X" Factor ("Activator X") is still present, and all fat-soluble vitamins remain.

Why not just eat butter? Butter is high in CLA, Omega-3, and fat-soluble vitamins A, E, and K. However, butter can be problematic to those who are lactose intolerant, and it has a relatively short shelf life when left out at room temperature.

Butter oil (pictured right) is virtually free from lactose and has an extended shelf life (right on the counter) due to the lack of lactose, proteins, and milk solids. So it's a good choice for those who are lactose intolerant.
