Review

High Way From Hell: Using Emotion to Fan The Fire Of Enlightenment by writer, poet, and mystic visionary Moonstone Star White is a compendium of insights, advice, and information that is both personal and universal. Within its pages, readers will embark upon a voyage of guided self-discovery, become aware of new and useful perspectives, and experience a renewed zest and appreciation for life. Thoughtful and thought-provoking, inspired and inspiring, deftly articulate, intellectually engaging, and spiritually rewarding, High Way From Hell is an enthusiastically recommended addition to personal Self-Help and Self-Improvement reference collections and personal reading lists. --Midwest Book Review

Highway from Hell is a journey into your own heart and, at the same time, a rational and spiritual inroad to allowing all of us to live life to the fullest. A review cannot do this book justice. It must be read and digested by each individual as they search for that true body-mind-spirit connection that some of us spend our whole lives in search of! Powerful, honest and enlightening, Moonstone Star White writes a compelling book for all ages. Read it and "fan the fire of (your own) enlightenment". --Alice Klein, Simegen.com

Most of us have moments, days, even years in our lives that we d as soon forget. Perhaps it was a thoughtless remark or a poorly considered lifestyle choice that, from our current perspective, causes us to cringe with embarrassment. Moonstone Star White could be an excellent role model for those of us who haven t yet mastered the art of live and learn. Just as the cover copy promises, her autobiographical self-help book High Way From Hell : Using Emotion to Fan the Fires of Enlightenment, "invites us to recover the innate radiance that burns away shame and sorrow and... empowers us by allowing the gracious embrace of non-judgmental awareness." White, described as a mystical visionary, offers her story and the lessons learned without pretension or grandiose claims of supernormal wisdom or power. Readers will likely find that many of the episodes in White s life parallel their own and those of the majority of a generation. What could have been merely self-indulgent catharsis is, instead, an honest tale of White s ongoing spiritual journey. Without exception, the vignettes she chooses are told with candor and the sort of free-spirited exuberance we tend to lose as age constructs inhibitory walls around our egos. White is not promoting any particular doctrine here. She draws on the wisdom from a number of belief systems, frequently reminding us that the "...way to regain control of your life is to recognize that whenever you are resisting some idea, part of you is already buying into it." Using personal examples of learning and growth, White shares clear, practical, and customizable suggestions for releasing anger, forgiving ourselves and others, and, most importantly, for working with our mistakes and emotions rather than being victimized by them. That is the premise of this book; since we are emotional creatures, attempts to proceed on logic will always be derailed by emotion, so why not welcome and befriend our natural responses? Plain-spoken and sincere, White shows us how to recognize and appreciate the lessons taught by mistakes, anger, even heartbreak. High Way From Hell seems to me to be an excellent resource upon which to base a study group, but it is certainly a valuable guide for individuals as well. As a measure of just how valuable I believe it to be, I ll say this - I ve already ordered copies for my children. --Deborah Adams, Myshelf.com

Highway from Hell is a journey into your own heart and, at the same time, a rational and spiritual inroad to allowing all of us to live life to the fullest. More About the Author

Moonstone Star White is a mystical visionary and a spiritual maverick. With graceful candor and impeccable honesty she translates the experiential data of her life into spiritual wisdom anyone can easily grasp and utilize.

At the age of 25 she had a spontaneous and life-altering experience of spiritual ecstasy and profound insight while gazing at the rays of a dawn sunrise sparkling across ripples of water in a desert stream. To describe it in her own words:

"I was simply enjoying the beauty of a spectacular spring morning by taking a walk and had stopped along a canal to enjoy the sunrise. As I watched the sunlight begin to dance across the movement of the water, I felt my essence 'fall into it'. In those moments I knew without a shred of doubt the nature of our essential being-ness, what some would call Nirvana or the Kingdom of Heaven. My inner spirit welled euphoric, like a geyser exploding to the surface of awareness and dispersing into a sea of indescribable and endless bliss.

"When the realization 'This is it!' found its way into my consciousness, I felt myself plummet like a rock to the more familiar recognition of my surroundings. In my desire to hold on to that experience, I also knew the humbling reality that is the hallmark of human experience. In the flash of a few moments I had experienced both the wisdom and peace that surpasses all worldly understanding and the devastation of knowing our separation from The One, the classic fall from grace."

In the years following she pursued as many avenues of personal growth and spiritual transformation as time and money would allow. Over the years she experienced many profound spiritual realizations. She began journaling realizations and ideas in the early 1990s, and as a coherent message began to form she developed a habit of "sourcing" information in what she calls "stream of consciousness writing" in the early morning hours. This combined body of work became the material for "High Way From Hell".

Both a writer and a poet by nature, she is also an artist, a certified hypnotherapist, ordained minister and licensed massage therapist. As a spiritual intuitive with a questioning mind, deepening her understanding of the fundamental nature of existence has been the passion of a lifetime. She is board certified and a member of the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association and the National Guild of Hypnotists. She became certified in massage therapy and aromatherapy at the Healing Arts Institute in Fort Collins, Colorado, a school that integrates the importance of spiritual and emotional well-being into its curriculum. She received her ministerial ordination through the Universal Life Church, which respects the unique and personal nature of spiritual experience.

With chameleon-like versatility, Moonstone has moved through a diverse collage of occupations in her exploration of life. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in journalism from Iowa State University, where she worked her way through school as a bartender. After graduating, she was a successful free-lance artist for over 15 years. Since then she has pursued work in massage therapy, spiritual energy healing, aromatherapy and worked for several years as a real estate broker. Today she practices massage and hypnosis, and continues to work as an artist. Her artwork has shifted from painting to creating fine jewelry with her husband, which they sell at fine art and craft festivals.

With a vision both intimately personal and significantly global, her philosophy asserts that the tendency to think with emotions rather than feel them diminishes happiness by shutting down intuition and cutting us off from our spiritual natures.

Today she is spreading the message in her book, and is focused on helping others discover the freedom and intuition that lies within their own hearts.

Award winning book that compares favorable with anything offered in its genre today. If you've enjoyed the writings of Wayne Dyer, Jerry & Esther Hicks, Eckart Tolle, and Marianne Moore you'll be dazzled by Moonstone Star White's Highway From Hell. Indeed, few books compare to Highway From Hell for the depth of its exploration of the role of emotion and perception in our lives as a means toward enlightenment.

This is one of those books that you will read and re-read for its fresh insights and for its treatment of issues that we all struggle with--some chapter headings: "Finding your Niche in a World with One Mission", "Your experience Demonstrates your Truth", "The Four Aspects of Experience", "Integrity and Self-Love." The book is organized into aptly titled chapters which provide an instant reference to your inquiry of interest. "If the body is the temple of the soul, the mind and emotions are its gatekeepers" begins one eloquent chapter that explains how experience is a catalyst for change and growth.

Written in first person, Highway From Hell is an intimate guide to understanding the power of our emotions, and the sometimes elusive empowerment of both self-acceptance and change.

As a voracious reader of books about spiritual growth, enlightenment, the power of attraction and realizing one's potential--and as a publisher of a magazine dedicated to spiritual enlightenment and education, I place this book among the top ten books in this genre that I would recommend to anyone. --Publisher, The Light, A Journal of Holistic Health, Spiritual Growth and Metaphysical Growth.

"Begin by feeling whatever it is you are feeling right now. Continue doing this for the rest of your life." So says Moonstone Star White in her inimitable HIGH WAY FROM HELL. She goes on to show us how to rediscover the zest for life that somewhere along the way we replaced with what she calls "catatonic complacency."

Since I am a book reviewer as well as a mystery writer, I had occasion to read an advance copy of White's book in hard cover, and felt an immediate connection to her heart-centered compassion. This is not one of those impractical hoo-doo feel-good books, however. HIGH WAY FROM HELL virtually overflows with practical exercises that help us regain belief in ourselves. White is willing, too, to share some of the low points of her life - like the day she shot forty rounds of bullets into her paintings - along with useful ways she's found to take the "high path" away from those hellish experiences.

I'm delighted to recommend this book.

Moonstone's insightful and thought provoking, literary masterpiece "High Way from Hell" is as intriguing and complex as the author herself. Her poignant portrayal of her own personal journey towards self awareness and spiritual development will leave the reader with a profound desire to explore their own reality and discover how it is colored by judgments and past conditioning behaviors. There is hope for all who dare delve into the inner depths of self and "High Way from Hell" will help guide the way!

Moonstone Star White eloquently puts into words what I have felt for a lifetime but was unable to say. I was amazed at how this book grabbed my attention right from the first page. By the end of the first chapter I could feel myself beginning to spiral within, to some sort of mysterious inner space that feels both significant and aware.

The narrative felt hypnotic to me. I was captivated by it, and yet, it was too much to fathom all in one sitting. I would find myself reading a page or two and then staring off into space as the ideas precipitated into my mind.

Little narrative episodes from the author's life peppered throughout the book add spice and reality to sometimes abstract concepts. It's loaded with levels of meaning that seemed to open up more and more as I read through it. This book is no lightweight and there is no fluff, yet it is both engaging and entertaining.

This is not just another "feel good, think all positive thoughts" kind of book. It addresses our very human quality of being emotionally driven and shows us how to use it in a natural way to become more intuitive and grow as a person. The message soothes and assures at the same time as it unsettles and rattles the cage. The experience I had while reading it is both profound and yet difficult to put into words. It's like getting a wake-up call that surprises you because you thought you were already awake.

This is a terrific book for anyone who wants to become more intuitive, authentic and self-aware.

Reading "High Way From Hell" is a gift to your soul, a powerful message and a practical approach to jump start your life in a great direction! With her insightful and refreshing style, Moonstone Star White's message definitely appeals to many different age groups, offering nourishing ideas that give us permission to experience the inner peace that is our birthright. This book offers a variety of meaningful ways to enrich our lives, our souls and our minds! The message is not entirely new - it echoes the spiritual wisdom passed down from many ancient traditions, both Eastern and Western. Yet the clarity with which she conveys intangible and difficult-to-describe concepts IS new!

"High Way From Hell" is more than food for thought. It is a feast for hungry souls. I was thunderstruck by the power and simplicity of the realizations I had while reading it. I wholeheartedly encourage anyone who is on any kind of journey toward personal growth and spiritual expansion to pick up this book and prepare to become a more authentic version of yourself than you ever thought possible.
