This book is great for the NBME Shelf exam. I am a 3rd year medical student who recently took the test and this book hit most (if not all) of the topics covered by the exam. It also presents the topics in table form to point out slight differences in clinical presentation that will help you make the diagnosis. There is also an appendix that lists answers to "what is the most common...." which is helpful for the shelf exam and answering attendings questions while on rotations. This book also has some very helpful diagrams, particularly pertaining to twin placentation. I would highly recommend this book to other med students.

This is a very good review book. I was pleasently surprised to find answers to questions the CREOG uses in their quizzes. In my opinion, this book is very complete, yet very concise. It is a great source of high yield facts for exams. In fact, it has an appendix which is precisely a table of frequently asked questions and their answers. I suggest anyone looking for a good review book, not a primary source of info mind you, to buy this book.

I "met" Dr. Sakala when he gave his OB lectures on Kaplan course. When I learned that he also wrote the book, I was sure it will be a wonderful source of information. I was right - this book is a precise and perfectly written (with many tables, pics) high-yield facts that covered everything I needed in OB for my step 2CK. After each chapter he put several scenarios with several qs to each. In addition, at the end there is a wonderful chapter with "the most common" things asked at the boards. I would highly recommend the book to everyone who is planning to take step 2 CK and 3.

great concise and easy to follow revies of ob/gyn topics. very useful for board prep. (espeically osteopathic boards which are notoriously ob/gyn heavy)

This is an excellent book for shelf exams and a must for Steps II and III both. It's very concise and easy to read and goes through stepwise approach to commonly seen and tested conditions. Very good diagrams too.

The information in the book is quite sparse, but it's enough to give a functional overview of OB/Gyn so that as a med student, I didn't appear totally clueless in front of my residents and attendings that first week of the rotation. It's short enough to breeze through over a weekend.

I found it absolutely invaluable for the clinical case scenarios at the end of most chapters, which helped greatly for the oral exam I had at the end of my clerkship.

But, as I said, it's sparse on details, and I needed other resources to get through the rotation as well.

If you want to pass OB/GYN in the Step 2CK. You need this book; explain everything so simple and clear better than First Aid. I used and pass with 220.

I would highly recommend this book to other med students who are preparing for the USMLE step 2. Really great
