Higher Octave Does It Again,
This review is from: Higher Octave Collection, Vol. 2: Music from Around the World (2-CD Set) (Audio CD)
Higher Octave has done it again. The leader in "new age" music has a knack for putting together a great stable of artists, and coming up with a great way to hear some musicians that you know, but may not have heard in the genre. I started off by buying the Collection CD's a year ago, now I own almost the entire higher octave catalog. A great collection of artists that will add to your enjoyment of music.

What's not to like?,

I enjoy most of the Higher Octave compilations because I find listening to a CD by a single artist to be wearing. I felt that CD 2 (Nighttime) was particularly well put together; the songs flow nicely from one to the other, yet the contrast between songs is thoughtful and interesting. This is a rare combination in an album, and indicates a compilation built by an intelligent and talented individual with a sophisticated knowledge of music. The variety is broader than most compilations with both instrumentals and vocal tracks. Well done, whoever you are, at Higher Octave!

More Music For Your Money,
This review is from: Higher Octave Collection, Vol. 2: Music from Around the World (2-CD Set) (Audio CD)
This double album contains a majority of good songs. There is a really nice blend here. It has such a good lineup of artists. If you like New Age music and relaxing music, you should consider buying this album. I am happy with it.

Having purchased this primarily for the "Nightime" side, ( as with it's predecessor) This follow-up compilation doesn't come close, which is the rule for most "#2's". The Deuter piece at the end of disc 2 is the standout, but that's worth the price in my (pocket)book. The "Daytime" disc is pleasant wallpaper music not nothing distinctive nor distinguished. Good for dentists waiting rooms I suppose.
