In 1994, Tramaine Hawkins released an album, 'To A Higher Place,' to a nation of hungry fans. Unlike its predecessor, 'The Joy That Floods My Soul,' this new album allows Tramaine to experiment with a fresh, new sound. Tramaine keeps in tow with a current sound Contemporary Gospel Music. All the songs feature a new sound from Tramaine, among the most memorable songs are: a fresh reverve of 'Amazing Grace,' a spiritually refreshing version of Joyce Kilmer's 19th Century poem 'Trees,' the encouraging 'Aim Your Arrow High,' and a 90s follow-up to 1986's 'Fall Down' titled 'Stand Your Ground.' With inspiring lyrics, spiritual messages and soaring mezzo-soprano vocals, Tramaine Hawkins furthers the cause of Christ and takes us 'To A Higher Place.'

I love this song. And I tried to order it for my ministry. But I never received this cd. Amazon.com did give me my money back. I am very apprehensive about trying to order it, again!! Bishop Ray Bryant

I have been trying to find this CD in perfect condition for several years. Thanks for a perfect product. I am truly enjoying it.

My sister turned me on to Ms. Hawkins' recording of Amazing Grace. The first time I heard it, I can honestly say it took my breath away. So naturally the first thing I did when I got home from her house was to go on Amazon and find it to purchase.
When the CD arrived, it more than lived up to it's promise. If you're old enough (like I am) to remember "Oh Happy Day" you'll remember the Edwin Hawkins Singers. And, if you're a Christian, like I am, somewhere deep inside is a spirit that wants to yell and shout and praise the Lord. This recording makes this impulse even harder to control! It's that good.
So good, in fact, that when the Lord calls me home, I'd like this played at my funeral.
