Okay, I ordered this ramp kit based on the great comments.
You can use 2"X10" boards I did use 2"X8", but 2"X10" will work fine.
However you will have 1" over hang on both sides of the brackets if you use 10".
Now if you have a concern about the wood being slippery if they get wet, two suggestions read the instruction that recommend a kit that is an anti-skip plate type of unit. I used paint and added a little sand to it, it's an old painter's trick (yes I'm old)... or just use spray paint undercoating or truck bed lining paint. I will have many years of use from these ramps.

These are excellent. Kit has both top an bottom to attach to a 2x8 or 2x10. Length is dependent on height because the angle of the top will come out flat if you use the correct length. Lays right on the tailgate of my pickup. Self adhesive protective pads will protect the paint. Very strong. It's just what I needed.

Great product! Easy to assemble! The only addition to this product that I would suggest would be buying some traction tape for the boards. When the wood gets wet it is slippery.

The ramp kit was fast and easy to install with a drill and works great. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to move small machinery.

I'm glad that I purchased this Kit. The description of the Kit as it is currently advertised isn't very clear. I wasn't sure if I was getting a set of 4 ramp brackets, (top & bottom), or just the 2 top brackets. Upon it's arrival, I was very pleased to see that this Kit has all 4 brackets. It is less expensive than just a Top Bracket Ramp Kit at Tractor Supply Stores.

This ramp kit exceeded my expectations. Everything about it is top notch quality. The ramp tops and bottoms are heavy gauge aluminum and will outlast any board you put in them plus they come with high quality grade 8 hardware for installation. I'm very pleased and would recommend this kit to anyone. Great product for a great price.

they did what i needed them for, i did not use the pins that keep it on the truck, i did not want to drill holes in the bed liner, i also shorten the 2*8*8 board down from 11 feet to 8 feet, the 11 feet was just to long and would not fit in the bed of the truck, for safety.

The kit includes all the necessary nuts and bolts. All I had to do was buy (2) 2x8x8 boards. Assembly took around 20 minutes. Directions seemed simple enough. Be advised, the kit and a pair of 8' boards is good for a 2' rise to the back of a vehicle. My SUV is 2'3", so technically I should have used longer boards and reinforced them. I suggest measuring the back of your vehicle first and if it's much more than 2' high, buy longer 2x8x10's and expect to have to reinforce them.

this ramp kit was everything I was looking for....I started a small lawn mowing business and was pushing the mowers up 2 x 8's and then over the top edge of the board and into the truck; it was even more difficult getting the mowers down over the top edge and then down the boards....I ordered these and they are great (nothing like it at Home Depot, so don't bother); however the aluminum does not fit perfectly on a 2 x 8 so don't try...I even tried edging the edge of the 2 x 8 to make it fit better... I don't think they're supposed to fit perfectly....just bolt them on, put on the rubber adhesive and away you go...

Product is very sturdy and easy to use. Packaging and descriptions very confusing - depending on what you read these fit anywhere from a 2x8 to a 2x12 but are really best for either the 2x8 or at most 2x10. Includes both the top and bottom but that also wasn't clear in the descriptions.
