Best romance novel I have ever read! It shows how actual love would be not just lust. Very refreshing to see not all romance novels have to entirly about sex. MY best friend absolutly hates romance novels and even seh thought it was addictive. Must read.

This is the second in Tess Mallory's Highlander time-travel trilogy. This story rates right up there with the best of the best.A shy, modern-day woman, Cheslsea Brown, is thrown into the 1800 wild West with Scottish clan leader, Griffin Campbell,to save Griffin's cousin from being hung for murder. Chelsea has to figure out a way to rescue all three of them and return them to present times.

I really liked the way Tess let us travel from the USA to Scotland and used various years/centuries in the travel.
The reason I gave a 4 is because I just sorta like the thrill of the way a person acts in a different era instead of the interaction that she had with the four American's with Griffin after he came to the US. That made me lose interest. However, when the action went back to Scotland, was it ever worth the wait! I am anxious to read more of Tess Mallory's writings and deeply appreciate the lack of vulgar language in her books.

Although I had a little trouble identifying with a hero who threw up whenever faced with the prospect of a woman he might care for, the plot twists and other characters made up for this. The book was a pleasing time travel with interesting characters. I don't want to give away some of the time travel twists, but I do want to read the other books about these characters. Mallory has a neat little time travel mini-series. If you enjoy historical time travels, you'll enjoy this.

Scotland - 1603 -- Poor Griffin Campbell, heir to clan Campbell, handsome, strong, honorable, and intelligent. Everything a future laird should be, other than the fact that try as he might, he just can't seem to do the deed with a lass! It's not necessarily that he doesn't have the urge, it's just that the minute he gets close or kisses them his stomach rolls and he has to vomit. So far, he's hidden this particular quirk from everyone but now finds himself betrothed to a woman he doesn't even feel the urge to kiss, let alone do the deed. Taking himself off to gather his thoughts, he happens upon a cave that had a pool and green crystals. Stones that looked just like the crystal that his friends Jix and Jamie MacGregor used that enabled them to travel back and forth in time. As he touched the stones, hed wake was staring at Chelsea, a comely lass in a very short dress - and, more importantly, it was the year 2003.

Chelsea was following in her scientific parents shoes - both of whom were brilliant scientist's. Chelsea was just about finishing up a doctorate degree back in Texas, yet she never felt she could measure up next to her two best friends - the vivacious lovely Jix MacGregor and, gorgeous and accomplished Samantha. They had been friends forever and when invited to come and celebrate Jix and Jamie's anniversary, Chelsea couldn't refuse.

Chelsea had never before felt any kind of attraction for a man; that is until she got a good look at Griffin Campbell, a blond Adonis if ever she saw one. He seemed to like her too, at least he sure kissed like he did, but then he would turn around and `hurl' immediately after. Now for someone whose self-esteem was low to begin with Chelsea didn't think the future looked too bright. When they all ended up flying to Texas in search of specialist for Jix. Griffin discovered a long lost cousin had somehow time-traveled back to 1882 Texas and he was determined to find a way to save him never expecting that Chelse would be coming along on the adventure.

*** In the second installment to Mallory's time travel series, she brings Griffin Campbell back from Scotland 1603 to Scotland 2003, and then to Texas 1882. Poor Griffin as if the adjustment to 2003 wasn't enough of a culture shock, he'd been put into the belly of a giant metal bird - an aero-plane - and flown to modern day Texas, with more adventures thrown in! One can positively say that you won't get bored with this rollicking adventure of a time travel story especially as Griffin finds the woman he'd truly like to settle down with - except for that one little problem. Filled with more than enough secondary characters, and a plethora of amusing situations this writer puts the lead duo through, the reader is sure to find this an enormously entertaining read. -- Marilyn for, [...]---

In 1605 Scotland, Griffin Campbell is expected to marry Maigrey MacGregor as heir to his clan's chieftain. However, Griffin has not only never been with a woman, but he suffered a childhood trauma and vomits at the thought of just a kiss. He thinks of his friend Jix Ferguson who traveled back in time from the twenty-first century, but has returned to her home married to his clansman Jamie. He ventures inside the cave she described and touches the crystals. The next thing he knows is that he is in the Scottish home of Jix and Jamie in her century.

A bewildered Griffin meets Jix's friend, University of Texas Physicist Doctorate student Chelsea Brown. They hit it off immediately, but his female phobia stops him from making love while she feels too mousy for the muscular warrior. They travel to Texas where he sees a picture of his seventeenth century cousin Duncan about to be hanged in 1882. Griffin and Chelsea find the crystals and as they fall in love journey to rescue his kin.

The sequel to HIGHLAND DREAM, HIGHLAND FLING is a wild time travel ride that takes readers on a trip through three different centuries. The key to the story is that the displaced individuals do not easily adapt to their new world especially Griffin who, for instance, tries to kill small barbarians hiding inside a box that Chelsea calls a TV. The story line is loaded with action and the crystals provide a time mechanism though Jamie's explanation of magic seems displaced. This is a winner for those readers who relish a romantic Back to the Future.

Ordinarily I love time travel Scottish highlander romances. Sorry, but I found this book somewhat laughable and not sexy or romantic in the least bit. A hero who throws up everytime he kisses the girl he loves? Aside from the convoluted plot of jumping around from place to place, the heroine was so tiresome with her inferiority complex and jealousy of her friends. I won't be reading another by this author.

Although I am an ardent fan of timeswept romance especially when anything Scottish is involved, I was disappointed with this book. I think that if I were a 12 year old it would have been a thoroughly enjoyable book. I had expected more descriptive words and intense, steamy passages, but none were to be found. It was a book only for innocent eyes. This will be the one and only book that I will read from this author.
