Book Description

2008
After her grandmother's death, Kara Malone inherits a key and a box with a secret. On a plane bound for Hawaii where she is to start a new job, she opens the box to find her grandmother's journal and a beautiful stone. Magical forces propel Kara back in time to the Scottish Highlands where she is nearly run down by Alaxandar MacLeod, the dark stranger from her dreams. Her problems are just beginning. Alaxandar has been charged with finding the truth behind the recent violent raids against his clan. When his horse almost tramples a beautiful stranger, he wonders if she may hold the key to the raids. Is she a spy or a witch come to lure him with her wiles and distract him from his mission? Whatever she proves to be, Kara is everything he's wanted in a woman and he'll do anything to keep her with him.

More About the Author

If I had to choose one word to describe me, it would be CHAOS. I never stop doing. Hyper you say? Perhaps, but not the kind that needs medication to control it. I am a life junkie. I want to experience everything life has to offer and go about it in my own way. My way generally involves music and dancing.

When I was young, I created stories in my head taking me to all the places I dreamed of visiting, and I always had a handsome someone to go with. As I got older, the places got more exciting and adventurous and the someone became more rugged and gorgeous. What can I say, I'm a dreamer. I'm also a hopeless romantic. In that vein, my stories took on a romantic flare and though I never wanted them to end, always ended happily.

In between my regular jobs as legal assistant, mother of two kids, wife, cook, washer woman, chaperone, taxi driver, computer tech, and part-time creative designer for homework jobs and school projects, I write full-length romance novels with strong heroines and fractured men who need a good woman to heal them.

My goal is to become a full-time author without life interruptus, devoting every waking moment (I don't sleep much anyway) to creating great characters and finding ways to torture them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sexy, Passionate and Fun!!, July 27, 2011

First of all let me start by saying that the cover for the Kindle edition is BEAUTIFUL!! It caught my attention and made my heart jump around in my chest ;)

Highland Stone is a very entertaining read. This is a time travel story where a young woman is transported from the 1940's back to the Scottish Highlands in 1350. She is to return a stone that belonged to her ancestors. Of course there are complications along the way. One of which is named Alexdander MacLeaod.

Alexander is a product of his time. He's a bit bossy and believes that women should follow orders and should look to their men for protection. He is certainly a hot and sexy alpha male!! I loved his character!!

Kara is an independent young woman who likes to take care of herself. She handles being propelled back into time quite gracefully. I would have personally liked to see her a bit more concerned or maybe in more of a panicked state upon realizing what her predicament was. She had been told stories by her grandmother of such events when she was a young girl. She never really believed the tales until she found herself in the Highlands of Scotland. Face to face with a man she had dreamed about for years.

I absolutely loved the banter that goes on between Kara and Alexander. It's a lot of fun and made me laugh out loud a few times. I also thought it was fun that Kara would slip up and say things that nobody else would understand because she would refer to something from her own time.

I truly enjoyed reading this book. The characters are lovable. The plot is exciting and fun. The romance is hot and passionate ;)

Disagree with previous review...... Although i have read better this was worth what I paid for it. Sooo people give it a whirl if you like Scottish Highland time travel romance. Read "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon it you want the best.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible..., December 12, 2010

this was the worst book I've ever read. If I could have given it zero stars I would have. The premise sounds great but the author is lacking. I felt like I was reading a book written by a high school kid. The hero acts and talks like a caveman and the woman...I don't know but this was truely horrible. First book in a long time that I could not bear to finish. Do not recommend. Glad I only paid $2.99.
