First of all let me start by saying that the cover for the Kindle edition is BEAUTIFUL!! It caught my attention and made my heart jump around in my chest ;)
Highland Stone is a very entertaining read. This is a time travel story where a young woman is transported from the 1940's back to the Scottish Highlands in 1350. She is to return a stone that belonged to her ancestors. Of course there are complications along the way. One of which is named Alexdander MacLeaod. Alexander is a product of his time. He's a bit bossy and believes that women should follow orders and should look to their men for protection. He is certainly a hot and sexy alpha male!! I loved his character!! Kara is an independent young woman who likes to take care of herself. She handles being propelled back into time quite gracefully. I would have personally liked to see her a bit more concerned or maybe in more of a panicked state upon realizing what her predicament was. She had been told stories by her grandmother of such events when she was a young girl. She never really believed the tales until she found herself in the Highlands of Scotland. Face to face with a man she had dreamed about for years. I absolutely loved the banter that goes on between Kara and Alexander. It's a lot of fun and made me laugh out loud a few times. I also thought it was fun that Kara would slip up and say things that nobody else would understand because she would refer to something from her own time. I truly enjoyed reading this book. The characters are lovable. The plot is exciting and fun. The romance is hot and passionate ;)

Disagree with previous review...... Although i have read better this was worth what I paid for it. Sooo people give it a whirl if you like Scottish Highland time travel romance. Read "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon it you want the best.

this was the worst book I've ever read. If I could have given it zero stars I would have. The premise sounds great but the author is lacking. I felt like I was reading a book written by a high school kid. The hero acts and talks like a caveman and the woman...I don't know but this was truely horrible. First book in a long time that I could not bear to finish. Do not recommend. Glad I only paid $2.99.

Okay, it has all the right elements. Time travel, a hot Highlander, mysterious sub-plot. Firstly, I'm all for self-pubbed material. But edited well, please! It's written really choppily in places, there aren't any transitions sometimes. And language. They're Scottish. 'Me' is not Scottish, that's English. Get the vernacular right. Also the correct word tamped instead of stamped. Peaked instead of peeked. If this were edited and the pace was corrected in a few places this could be a good book. Well, if she corrected the believability factor. No, I'm not talking about the time travel, that's a given. What I'm talking about is the willingness of the Hero/heroine to have sex. In that time period it would mean that she's not marriage material and is just to be used for sex. Further the fact that she's acting so 21st century about sex. Okay, she is from that time period, but she would be aware that appearing knowledgeable would normally be a strike against her in that time period. Anyone would think, 'I have to be careful so they don't burn me as a witch or think I'm a whore'. She doesn't. And he doesn't think that of her. Plus the sex scenes lack emotion. And sound unoriginal. So, sigh. I really wished it was better. And it could be. But it wasn't.

Too many times characters go into long descriptive thoughts that take pages & pages. She gave enough description to get the point but not over do it. I liked the characters. It made me laugh, cry & anticipate. It ended a little quick for me but otherwise loved it!
