Laura Hunsaker took two of the subjects she loves most, Highlanders, and PNR and melded them together in one terrific short story. I loved reading this story and seeing how Laura has grown into her voice, and honed her writing skills. I was surprised at how complete the story was for a shorty too.

I enjoyed both H/h in this story. Nevin is all sexy alpha male, and Amalia is a strong heroine, I like to read strong heroines, nothing whiney going on here. There were times I thought Amalia might be tougher, but Nevin prevailed. Great job Laura!!

Highly recommended to those looking for a quick satisfying read.

This book was AWESOME! I LOVED IT!! The only thing I did not like about this book was it was too short! I would of loved to see this into a full novel. I felt that the AMAZING author could of added more pages to the story and made it even better then it was. It really was great and kept my attention through-out the book! And DEFINITELY had me want more!!

So as the Synopsis said this book start of in the 1300 hundreds when and amazingly sexy blacksmith wife's killed by a vampire. So he won't rest until everyone of the bloodsuckers are hanging on his wall, if the don't turn to ash first...lol!

But then the unthinkable happens he is ambushed into battle and almost beheaded. So nothing left to do but die and meet his wife in the after life. Or so he thought!

He is turned into the very same thing he once despised and hunted. A Vampire!

So that's where to book gets fun!

He wasn't turn by just any vampire he was turned by the Queen herself. An Beautiful Amalia wants him like she's never wanted anyone in her VERY long existence. BUT there's one problem! He wants nothing to do with the monster that turned him into a monster.

So Amalia does the only thing she can do, Give him space. That is until seven centuries pass and someone is now hunting the Queen. So Queen Amalia turns to him for his help with finding the bastard that's hunting her. But it won't be easy to get him to cooperate, just like it wasn't easy 700 years ago.

This book was VERY detailed with some nice love scene that was really just a plus for this series. I really, really enjoyed this book and just wished it was longer. I give mad props to this author for this book and will definitely be checking out more of her books in the future.

I give this book 4 stars and if it would of been longer would of gave it and EASY 5 stars!(

Team Review by Annie and Angela at Under the Covers Book Blog

Describe HIGHLANDER REBORN in three words
Angela: Engaging. Primal. Tease

Annie: Temptation. Mysterious. Magical

Laura Hunsaker fuses together her take on vampire mythology with highlander yumminess. What are your thoughts on this?

Annie: Laura puts together two of my favorite things- vampires and highlander. But she does it in a way that is unique and engaging. I wanted to know what Nevin would do when faced with this transformation that he never wanted. Paired with the fact that he is a vampire and a highlander only makes him more interesting...and tempting.

Angela: I thought it was a great idea. The combination of a great warrior as the hero from the highland era with a vampire heroine with a royalty background worked well. I was entranced with Amalia and Nevin's fate to be together despite of their social status.

Readers may want to know... How did you think the book progressed especially since its a short novella?

Annie: I like Laura's voice. It's very concise which makes reading a novella by her enjoyable. HIGHLANDER REBORN is tightly-written and had a believable romance that bloomed wonderfully despite Nevin's initial restraint. I thought that the author created an interesting conflict that was character based but still made it so that Nevin realized he has fallen for Amalia at a pace reader's would believe and accept. That being said, it would be nice to see more from them if future books allow.

Angela: I am not a writer in the least but I have to appreciate the work that is put into any book, short or regular length. However, I am a reader and a reviewer. I want to be honest and say that this novella was not enough for me.

Highlander Reborn is Laura Hunsaker's first paranormal romance release. And she definitely rocked it like a pro.

I was one of the lucky ones who read this story before the editing process, and even then it drew me in and made me want more.

Although Highlander Reborn doesn't have a great deal of Highlander-ish content due to the story starting in 1304 then quickly fast-tracking to the present. Nevil still falls back on his sexy Highlander brogue in highly emotional moments. Oh. So. Yummy. So there isn't a lot of kilt wearing, but there is definitely a lot of swooning when he talks.

In such a short story you gain an emotional attachment to Nevil and Amalia. Nevil has the broody, alpha-male, protective hero down pat and Amalia is a strong heroine that takes no crap.

The ending also gave me something to look forward to. I'm not sure if L.H. plans on continuing this series, but it sure sounds like it from the way the story ended *squee*

If you haven't read anything by the awesomely talented Laura Hunsaker, then this is a great way to get a taste of what you've been missing.
