More About the Author

Award winning, Amazon bestselling author Barbara Longley and each of her four siblings were born in different states, and because her family moved so frequently, she learned early on how to entertain herself with stories. As an adult, she has lived on a commune in the Appalachians, taught on an Indian reservation, and traveled from coast to coast. When her own children came along, she decided to try something new--staying put. She has made Minnesota her home ever since.

By day, Barbara is a teacher. She holds a Masters in Education, and has taught for many years. By night, she likes to explore things mythical, metaphysical, paranormal, and/or newsworthy. Much of what she learns makes its way into her stories, where all things are possible. While she loves teaching, reading and writing are her passions. I had pre-ordered this because of how much I loved the first one, and it didn't disappoint at all! I loved Robley in the first book and seeing his story play out was priceless. It was nice to see True and Malcolm's (from the 1st book) story continue as well.

The writing is wonderful, it was steamy in the right places (not overdone), the dialogue wasn't cheesy, it was funny and poingnant, and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Barbara Longley has now made my short list of automatic-preorder authors!

Book number 2 was as good as, if not better than, the first. Time travel and romance are the backbone of this one also but adding medical issues of the 15th century with medical benefits of the 21st century made this book a real page turner for me. Robley and Erin are great characters who overcome much to be together. If you liked the first book you must read this one!

Barbara Longley is an incredible author, and I cannot wait to read whatever she comes up with next. Our hero Robley, has always been fascinated with the future ever since Alethia (from the first book in this series) revealed she came from the future. He constantly asks her to explain different things from the future, and secretely longs for a little adventure before he is forced to choose a wife and settle down. Enter a little magic and mischief that helps him move forward right into the arms of Erin, a lovely young lady studying to be a midwife. Robley thoroughly enjoys his time in the future, but knows that he has to go back home.

Now Robley made a deal with a fairie to get to the future, and let's just say she duped him. When Robley is confronted by another fairie for his part in the scheme, he is immediately sent back, but Erin got caught up in the magic and ended up back with him. She is excited to use her midwife skills to help these people but is disappointed that she will never be able to finish her midwife certification and that Robley is still in danger from the fairies. I won't ruin the rest of the story, but everything happens exactly the way it should, and the story ends with a great conclusion. I imagine their will be another book (I don't know this for sure), but the author is one of those great authors that doesn't leave it at a cliffhanger just to get us to buy another one. She writes genuinely great material, gives her characters their HEA, and gives us the choice if we want to continue down the path with the characters she has brought to life. I don't feel forced into another book to finish any storylines, instead i'm invested in the family and cannot wait to read more of her writing!

I loved Robley! He's a man's man, but oh so tender and sweet. A real dream guy. Barbara Longley has a real skill at writing historical Scottish accents that are just enough to give you a flavor of the time without going overboard. A great story with time travel back to Scotland. What a ride!

If you can relate to a 25 year old woman whose vocabulary includes "screw, pissed, and crap," and who has raging hormones, you can become "addicted" to the plot. It is interesting, but shallow. IF you are looking for authentic historical fiction (including romance) of that period, read the novels of Sharan Newman and Margaret Frazer.

This is such an enjoyable series. I have always enjoyed the time traveling to the era of Scottish warriors especially when they find their lady loves. This author has managed to find a fresh twist on things that make it more enjoyable. Robley feels a need to go to the future and makes a deal with the old fae to allow him to fulfill this need. Despite his families concerns he travels to the future and lands in the arms of Erin. Erin is working in a 'reenactment fair and is on break and finds herself knocked down by this man who stepped out of nowhere. Robley convinces her he's from the past and even though she's sceptical she's willing to help him out. That is the beginning of a crazy journey to figure out how to get out of danger the fae has threatened them with. Both return to Robleys time and Erin finds friendship with True since they have something in common the future. I thoroughly enjoyed their story and how they managed to never give up to get their HEA. Can't wait to see what this author has in store for the next book in this series. Highly recommend

Format: Paperback
A time traveling 15th century Scottish nobleman lands in this century on top of (literally) the woman he instantly falls in love with and plans to marry. She is a midwife in training, just what his century needs. She is also, however, soured on love and the book details their adventures, in both worlds, in and out of each others arms. Will she give up her career dreams and join him in his century, or will she hold fast to plans before he came into her life? Be prepared for some steamy sex scenes, fairy spells and curses and old fashioned values. I did not realize it is book two of a series. It functions fine as a stand alone novel. My thanks to the author and Goodreads for a complimentary copy.

Barbara....I don't think I can wait until 2015 for the next book. Oh please don't make us wait that long. The teaser for Book three has me hooked already as the book begins with Hunter. I actually borrowed Book 1 (not once but twice) with my free rental on Amazon Prime. Today, I purchased book one as I am ready to read it for the third time. Book Two was worth the wait. I loved both characters and find myself laughing out loud at some of the scenes. Both books had me wondering how I would have reacted being thrown back and forward in time. Please keep these amazing books coming!!!
