Book Description

March 29, 2011
When COLIN MACALISTER is cursed by the Faerie Queen and ends up in the bed of a twenty-first-century woman—who also happens to be the most beautiful creature he’s ever laid eyes on—he’s torn between anger and lust. Colin is determined to see Scotland free of English control and must return to the fourteenth century, yet he cannot forget the woman who haunts his dreams and stirs him with scorching desire.

ABIGAIL PORTER can’t believe her luck. After making a wish to find her soul mate, she wakes up to find a gorgeous man in her bed! Can he really be a medieval Highlander summoned by her Faerie Magic, however? It seems crazy, but when Abby discovers someone wants to enslave her because of her Faerie heritage, she agrees to flee with Colin to 1306 Scotland to avoid capture. Thwarting danger at every turn, Abby and Colin surrender to an irresistible passion. But is the magic of true love powerful enough to save them?

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

In her eighth Daughters of the Glen paranormal historical romance (after Healing the Highlander), Mayhue hurls her hunky 14th-century Scottish warrior Colin MacAlister again and again into the amatory breach, starting with his exceptionally naked appearance in the bed of tough-talking present-day archeologist Abigail Porter. Both descended from the Fae, Colin and Abby suffer from donnee, the "great wanting" that comes from being separated from one's soul mate. Together they travel back to the eve of Robert the Bruce's great battle at Methven, becoming closer as menacing Nuadian Fae Flynn O'Dannan poses as Abby's sponsor and lusts after her Fae-touched blood. Time after time, Mayhue brings Colin, Abby, and her readers tantalizingly close to emotional satisfaction until Abby, struggling to choose between hot tubs and drafty castles, finally realizes there are things "more important than toilet paper." 5.0 out of 5 stars Highlander's Curse March 29, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I just started this series last week and purchased this book just after midnight last night. I have finished it and didn't want to even put it down. I love this whole series. I'm glad of reviews of the other books convinced me to buy the first one and then Melissa Mayhue's characters propelled me to keep buying the rest of the books and reading them. Anyone who loves sexy highlanders, alpha males and the women who can complete them will love these books. I also love the Fae storyline and interaction with them through out the books. I look forward to more from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wheres my Highlander? April 23, 2011
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
It seems no matter what may be going on in life through the ups and downs picking up my kindle and reading the Daughters of the Glen put a smile on my face and peace in my heart. From the 1st book to the 8th I was not able to put down, so many times I got only a few hours of sleep before work so engrossed in the story. The only disappointment with this series is the ending of each one. You never want it to come. I read approximately 20 books a month and this by far has been my favorite in years. Thank you Melissa for a great read, can't wait for the next book to come out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very very good one!! May 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this one as you really don't know until the very end whether they are going to end up in the future or the past.

Very likable characters. I loved that the main female character wasn't whiney or foolish, as in a couple of the previous books in this series, & of course the male lead character was just as hunky as usual. It was nice to see the previous characters & snippets of what is happening with them. However, it was done in a way that a reader new to the series wouldn't feel lost.

Again very good read. I'm so looking forward to the next book in the series! Yay for kindle & one click ordering!!
