Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover
It was one of the most anticipated Masters ever. And, at the tournament's conclusion the lofty expectations were justified.

Tiger Woods, a Masters winner in 1997, drove down Magnolia Lane with one mission in mind: become the first golfer ever to win four consecutive professional majors. Standing in Woods's way were the world's greatest golfers, and at the end two of those players met Tiger on Augusta National's fabled second-nine for a memorable battle. Join Tiger, David Duval, and Phil Mickelson on Sunday as they play Amen Corner and the course's pivotal finishing holes. Join the patrons as they cheer each birdie, and groan at each missed opportunity.

Start your Masters week Wednesday with the Par 3 Contest and witness a record-tying four holes-in-one. Thursday means the Honorary Starters ceremony and a chance to say goodbye to Byron Nelson as he hits his final ball to begin the Masters. Later that day you'll see first-year player Chris DiMarco as he grabs the opening round lead, becoming the third consecutive Masters rookie to top the leader board after the initial 18 holes. On Friday it's DiMarco on top again, but those that believe in fate take note of Woods' opening rounds of 70-66--the identical scores he posted during the first two rounds in 1997. Then it's on to Saturday where Tiger moves atop the field in preparation for Sunday's fireworks.

The official DVD of the 2001 Masters contains pictures not seen on television. In addition, the DVD includes coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies as well as a 30-minute post-tournament interview with Tiger Woods. Be part of the tradition of an April week in Augusta, Georgia and relive the Highlights of the 2001 Masters Tournament. 115 minutes.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, December 20, 2002
By A Customer
I expected a thrilling summary of at least the final day matches, as you would see them on tv, but the DVD just contains selected scenes with no story nor thrill.
There are no major scene selections available. The only part covered in full detail is the ceremony.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well done, November 30, 2001
By A Customer
This production really shows the drama of those four days at Augusta. The great shots, the missed opportunities and the strategy that is competitive golf. A triumphant Tiger Woods, in the end, talks about focus and the singlemindedness it takes to win at Augusta, and, particularly interesting, he describes some of the shots he used in critical situations that ended up working out just the way he had practiced them in anticipation of being in the exact situation during the tourney. Fascinating stuff from a brilliant golfer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great production, June 26, 2001
I have every Masters highlights tape since 1990. Each one of them is excellent, and the quality of the production unmatched. And as always, the action from the Masters never disappoints.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, but poor quality.
I thought the coverage of the tourney was great and the full post interview was interesting, would've like some more players thoughts I guess though. Read more

I like having sporting events on DVD vs. VHS. Quality of this one is good. Don't expect too many 'extra' features. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Highlights of the 2001 Masters
I have seen this video and I thought that it was really great. I forgot to tape the Masters and next to the live thing, it is the best. It shows great shots.
