I have to admit I don't leave home without my JoeMo XL (the 16 oz.) It took me a while to realize that I should put my loose tea (Rooibos) under the little filter cup-not in it. When you put your tea in the mesh cup you get a mouthful of tea (On the go, I do not have the luxury of emptying my loose tea before I drink--but with Rooibos the stonger the better.) But when you put your loose tea under the cup most get trapped by the mesh. The case is handy and the little pouch on the side fits my business card in case you misplace it. Over all good product.

Few problems:
Some times it leaks from the lid if it tips over. Of course better than a usual travel mug, but not as secure as a thermos. The mesh could be smaller, as some Rooibos gets through. Regular tea leaves would not. I would also love a 20 oz or larger version.

I have a couple different types of these mugs. One is the Livestrong mug which keeps coffee hot all day long like the JOEmo. I prefer the JOEmo because it has a better lid, cleans more easily and doesn't leak at all, the mug has a better feel in my hand and it costs less! I ordered one of these for each of my coffee/tea addicted family members!

I have two complaints about this thermos:
1) It's too small. That's because I've really been using it with greater and greater frequency since I bought it about a year ago
2) It keeps your tea warm for too long. You have to wait at least 3 hours to drink it, and optimal drinking temperature comes at 4-6 hours after you've sealed it.
But I decided to take advantage of this latter property. A few days ago, I brewed oolong tea in the thermos with included infuser; oolong tea leaves can be brewed for a long time and even multiple times over. Then I sealed it and didn't open it for 10 hours. The tea was then at a good drinking temperature, perhaps a few degrees below 'hot.'
So basically what you're looking at is a state of perpetual tea brewing with this thermos. You can brew it before you go to sleep and wake up to hot tea in the morning by your bedside. You can brew it even when you don't want tea, so it'll come in handy later.
The grounds I tested this thermos were in upstate New York, the frigid north. I use tea as a panacea for respiratory problems or sore throat or anything, really.
If you love tea, you will love this thermos. If you like tea, you will love this thermos. If you're just getting into tea, like I was when I bought this, this thing will change your life.

I got this mug so I could quickly toss in some loose leaf tea oolong boiling water and brew on the go, then add more water throughout the day. The mug did keep things hot, sealed great and did not leak, but I did not like how bulky it was. I commute by bus into the city and carry many items for all day work and school in a backpack, so I like to be efficient on weight and space. This mug is big. The cap takes up so much space and adds so much weight that its not worth lugging around. I gave it to my boyfriend who commutes by car and doesn't carry around much. He uses it for his morning latte and loved it at first, but then came the woes with the stench of the lid. He washes it everyday and disassembles it as specified everyday for cleaning but despite all that, it slowly just started to stink. He keeps it clean of build-up and is looking for creative ways to prevent it from smelling bad but its just more trouble than it should be.

I never really buy the marketing language on these products, but I can tell you that I put my hot tea in this mug and it is still too hot to drink 3 hours later! If you're looking for a travel mug that keeps your drinks nice and hot this is the mug for you!

I got this for my mother for her birthday, and she fell madly in love with it. She says it's easy to clean and keeps tea hot for hours. I'm starting to wish I had one now!

If you are avid tea drinker you will like this thermo cup. The tea mesh is very fine and small so when you use loose tea, no tea ends up in the water. I like it very much.

BASIC DETAILS: Thermos is made of stainless steel and holds 14 ounces. Comes with a small removable steel mesh filter that can be used to brew tea inside the thermos. Lid appears to be made of plastic. Twist the lid clockwise (counterclockwise) in order to close (open) the entire lid from the thermos. Press the green button in the center of the lid once to pop up the center of the lid, allowing you to drink from the thermos. Press the button again to reseal the thermos.

PROS: When properly working, thermos does a good job keeping drinks at or close to their original temperature, whether hot or cold, for at least several hours. Easy instructions for disassembling/reassembling lid.

CONS: For me, after two months of use, the lid became somewhat defective. Specifically, now after the first push of the green button to open the lid for drinking, the lid pops up but stays jammed in that position. So if I push the button a second time, the lid generally does not depress nor seal the thermos as it normally should. Sometimes the button for the lid works normally, but it's very inconsistent. It can also be somewhat difficult to clean all the nooks and crannies of the lid (though to be fair, I think this is an issue with most other vacuum-sealed thermoses).

OTHER THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:

-While the provided mesh filter allows you to brew tea inside the mug, if you're going to use it, it's best used with tea leaves that do not expand too much upon brewing (given the relatively small size of the filter).

-The thermos is best used for holding clearer liquids. While the thermos is made of stainless steel, the lid is not. Thus, some of the hard-to-reach areas of the lid can accumulate with residue from thicker beverages (e.g., powder from matcha tea).

CONCLUSION: The thermos is a 4- to 5-star product straight out of the box. However, with the defective lid, it's a 2-star product at best, in my opinion.
