About the Author

Jeff Ingram was the first Southwest Representative for the Sierra Club. He and his fellow environmentalists succeeded in preventing dams in the Grand Canyon and in enlarging the Grand Canyon to more evely fit its geological scope but have not yet achieved Wilderness status for this icon National Park. He wrote the book to encourage the current environmentalists, to show what was achieved and to provide a history so that, just maybe, the same ground won't keep being covered and little progress made.
