This review is from: Hikaru no Go, Vol. 20 (Hikaru No Go (Viz Media)) (Paperback)
This is a great manga. It is a great story with excellent artwork and great character development throughout the series. It is also suitable for all ages.

If you don't know anything about the game of Go and how it relates to Japanese, Chinese and Korean culture, this series provides a nice introduction to that world wrapped in great story-crafting and artwork.

4.0 out of 5 stars I like it still but, October 17, 2010

This review is from: Hikaru no Go, Vol. 20 (Hikaru No Go (Viz Media)) (Paperback)
This volume is basically shows Shindo is already starting to compete in the round robin and against higher dan pros even though he is a shodan. This also include the portion of the prelim for the Japan Hokuto Team , the 2 open spot for the team tournament.

I could not wait for the new volume so I went online and thank goodness I did becasue I dont think I will be collecting the rest of the manga or maybe I will f I change my mind... because of the ending .!!Spoiler!!! the mangaka made the ending open wherein the last page says " Can you hear my voice", and therefore there is no resolution at all which is driving me nuts.

It ended with the Hokuto Cup plus 2 special volume but there is no resolution to Hikaru's goal to surpass Akira and to be as strong as Sai.There are chapters that I really like wherein Toya Koyo observed the competiton and made a comment that Hikaru is like him , trying to be as strong as Sai. Hopefully the mangaka will be inspired to finally close the story of Hikaru no Go, when Shindo is a bit older, maybe.

Please Hotta sensei, please close the story of Hikaru Shindo.Currently the world of Go in Japan is reigned by young pro Go players,so it is possible to make a storyline that Shindo would end up winning a title or 2 not like the old geazer depicted (except for Ogata sensei, Mr cool in the white suit blue shirt and yellow tie) in the manga/anime
