When complete, the North Country National Scenic Trail will stretch more than 4,000 miles, offering premier hiking and backpacking opportunities from eastern New York to central North Dakota. The North Country Trail is being built in sections across seven states by a broad coalition of organizations, agencies, volunteers and landowners. After just two decades of work, the trail already offers more than 2,000 miles of off-road sections to explore.
