About the Author
Bob Lorentzen began writing and publishing guide books in 1986 because the regional books people wanted were not being done. He has lived in Mendocino County for more than 20 years, Sonoma County before that. Bob and his family love to find and hike new trails, and sometimes just to sit and contemplate nature. He graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1972, with a degree in community studies.

Bob Lorentsen de-mystifies the confusing world of Sonoma County hiking and provides a path to understandable trail access for anyone from the novice hiker to the experienced backpacker. His vivid descriptions of the flora and fauna of the area are enough to send even the most timid trekker heading for the hills in anticipation of the glories of our Sonoma County landscapes. 50 delightful trails, and all in a small handy size, convenient for tossing into a daypack, or stashing in your hip pocket. This book is great for people who love the outdoors. It has everything from hicking, picnicking, to horseback riding in the Sonoma County. He also puts out books on Mendocino and other County's.
