I just got back from a hiking trip to Rocky Mnt.Nat.Park and used this book to formulate most of my hikes. Very informative. Doesn't cover any summit hikes or the up and back alpine hikes but great otherwise.

Buy this book if you are mainly interested in loop trails. If you don't mind out and back trails or want to get to the high peaks, this book is not for you. If you don't do out and backs you'll be missing some great hikes.
I rate this book as a nice to have but not essential. You could probably figure out most of these circuits yourself with a good topo map of RMNP. What this book provides are trail descriptions so you have an idea of what to expect. There are some better books (in my opinion) out there that cover most of the trails that were used to create these circuits individually; not as a loop. |
