5.0 out of 5 stars Great Guide!, August 4, 2008
This review is from: Hiking Colorado's Summit County Area: A Guide to the Best Hikes in and around Summit County (Regional Hiking Series) (Paperback)
This hiking guide has everything you need to have a wonderful time on the trail. It has topo maps, elevation charts, and ACCURATE detailed trail descriptions. It was more up to date than some of the information we got from the ranger station!

4.0 out of 5 stars Hiking Summit County, right on target, September 7, 2008
This review is from: Hiking Colorado's Summit County Area: A Guide to the Best Hikes in and around Summit County (Regional Hiking Series) (Paperback)
Good up to date book on popular trails in Summit county. Hiked six trails out of the book. All information was spot on, with the exception of new bathroom facilities installed at some trail heads this year. Nice surprise for the wife. Directions were always good and checkpoints worked well. Shrine Mtn. was the best, followed closely by Lily Pad Lake trail. Difficulty ratings were appropriate as well.

This review is from: Hiking Colorado's Summit County Area: A Guide to the Best Hikes in and around Summit County (Regional Hiking Series) (Paperback)
We've been on several hikes from this book and overall I'm quite pleased. The hikes are definitely very good (Lower Cataract Lake was great), and I like the breakdown of the hikes at the beginning of the book. The overview at the books beginning breaks the hikes down into difficulty levels and hike strong points such as "good for history buffs," "great views," and "good for wildflowers." I would like it if the maps would outline more of the hikes and how they branch off of each other, and I wish there were more hikes included as I know of quite a few more in the area, but overall I liked this book and would recommend it.
