3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting - better on background info than hiking trails, June 11, 1999

This review is from: Hiking the Mountain Trails of Santa Fe: A Guide to Trails, People, Places & Events (Paperback)
I found this book more interesting for the personal comments of the author than useful for hiking. The major problem with the hiking information is the trail diagrams -- they need arrows or something to illustrate the trails. Let me also say I didn't end up hiking -- Santa Fe is quite high in altitude and a brief visit wasn't long enough to acclimate. All in all, I'm glad I bought and read the book before I went. It's an interesting insight into the types of people who live in the area.
