From the Back Cover

The mountains of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable geothermal experience. From sylvan streamside pools to hand-crafted bathhouses, Hiking Hot Springs in the Pacific Northwest introduces you to 144 of the finest natural hot soaking pools and guides you to more than 80 scenic hikes that either lead to or begin near springs. Dip your toes in a roadside soaking pool overlooking smooth desert playa in southeast Oregon; day hike to steaming pools in Washington's Olympic National Park; dip in hot tidal pools on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia; or savor a post-hike soak in one of Idaho's protected wilderness areas. All but a few of these gems are located on prime public land within national forests and parks.

Inside you'll find:

Details on the quality of each soaking pool, its water temperature, and scenic setting
Hiking descriptions, difficulty ratings, and trail lengths
Easy-to-read maps and clear directions
Information on seasonal access and restrictions

Whether you're seeking a soak or a backcountry hiking adventure, let Hiking Hot Springs in the Pacific Northwest be your guide.

1.0 out of 5 stars Kind of a guide..., May 10, 2007
This review is from: Hiking Hot Springs in the Pacific Northwest, 4th (Regional Hiking Series) (Paperback)
I bought this book thinking that it would guide me to wonderful hot springs. The descriptions were not always entirely accurate. I have visited hot springs all over Idaho based on this book and other information gathered by other outdoor friends. It doesn't have all the hot springs that are out there- like the hot springs on the wind river just up from the mouth. Some time it includes what are barely hot springs... like owl creek on the salmon river and ones on Panther creek in Idaho off the main salmon. A good starter guide for some hot springs, some good descriptions... a little bit to generous about how "great" they really are- I found that most of the hot springs tend to be crowded with naked pot-smokers, drunk and smelling foul. This was not included in the pages of this book.
