5.0 out of 5 stars Ex Bodyguard, January 3, 2010
This review is from: Hikuta: The art of controlled violence (Paperback)
I am an Ex Bodyguard and received the Hikuta Tape and Book free to try out and evaluate back in 1992. I showed it to my brother a prison guard and he scoffed at it, but wanted to look at it.
I felt at the time Hikuta was good for people who have no martial arts experience and who may be a little awkward in coordination. It teaches simple common sense fighting techniques that can overcome any adversary.
My brother asked me the other day if I remembered the Book and Tape I got about Hikuta, I said "yes" he laughed and said that new prison guards are taught Hikuta as an introductory course to protect themselves and are warned that it is only to be used in instances that require deadly force.
He wanted to know if he could borrow it and look it over again.
I still recommend Hikuta.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than some videos, July 14, 2010

This review is from: Hikuta: The art of controlled violence (Paperback)
This book reviews the basics of Hikuta and gives you a confident feeling that you can defend yourself. This book keeps it simple and gives you a principle of why it works. It's very good for those who may need training that does not focus on all kicks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Janna, September 2, 2007
This review is from: Hikuta: The art of controlled violence (Paperback)
This is book is extremely usefull for anyone wanting to know how to defend themselves. It only takes minutes to learn and far effective than any martial art I ever studied. I studied Tae Kwon Do and Ninjutsu, Hikuta is by far the best. It's also common sense!
