I've have read all his books in the series of Echo Company. This is one of the best vietnam, or rather any war book I've ever read.

This is the second book out of the Echo Company series and one of the better ones. Funny and thought-provoking, it is a shame that this series of books are out of print. The style of writing is fantastic and you literally fall in love with the characters. I read this book several times and still find it as ammusing as ever.

"Hill 568" continues the story of Michael, first introduced in "Welcome to Vietnam" as an 18-year-old Colorado boy drafted into the Army to fight in a war he doesn't like or truly understand.Although the series is fictional, it is based upon fact, and the battles described in "Hill 568" were all too horribly experienced by real Vietnam veterans. Despite the scattering of humor and non-battle-related sideplots, I didn't enjoy this book as much as the others in the series...perhaps for the very reason that it was largely war. Nonetheless, it's important to read if you want a clear and complete picture of the entire series. This book is the second of a four-part series -- five, if you count "The Road Home," which was written under Ellen Emerson White and is the conclusion of Michael's story.

I liked this book because it had tons of action scenes in it. I liked it because it was about the army and lots of people in my family went to the army. I also liked it because it got me to know that the Vietnam war was really horrible. Lots of people were killed. It let me know that war is a horrible place o be especially when you are the frontline soldier. That's why I liked this book.I would recommend this book to readers that are age like me a freshman. the reason I would recommend it to freshman's(9th graders) is because it is a long book and you wont understand some of the profanity in it. Recommending to ages like me are good because you would already know some back ground about the Vietnam war. I also recommend it because it has lots of action on shooting, fighting, blood, and gore. That's why I would recommend this book to freshman's(9th graders).

I havent read this book; I plan to, though, because I've read books by this author under the name ellen emerson white which are great, including one called The Road Home. The Road Home has some of the same charactersas this series. Thought fans would like to know!
