The author definitely has a sense of humor! A well-known childrens' story is retold with characters all adults will recognize. The moral of the story remains intact: When someone is blessed by the fruits of his/her own labor, others want a share of the rewards. I will be looking forward to other "retold tales" by this author!

How funny and charming! My seven year old read this aloud to me and we both enjoyed the story. I appreciated the practical lesson and opportunity to talk with my children about the value of hardwork. Don't expect a free lunch. Work and be proud of your accomplishments!

This is an enjoyable and relaxing childrens book that really ought to be widely read. Without going too overboard politically the author presents consequences of flawed thinking with regard to work. Only adults will be able to understand political undertones of the text, which is perfect because it allows both parent and child to enjoy the story line. My hope is that this author will continue on and develop an entire series of childrens books like this one!
