This review is from: Hillary's Secret War: The Clinton Conspiracy to Muzzle Internet Journalists (Hardcover)

This well-documented and meticulously researched book will never be reviewed by the NY Times, and its author will never appear on an ABC, CBS or NBC news show.

Why?

Not because the liberal media have grounds to refute its evidence, but rather because they don't want you to even know the book exists!

Take the time to read it and decide for yourself. Well worth the time and effort, as well as the price of admission.

As a founding member of the VRWC, I was THERE on 10/31/98 when we held our March for Justice...the culmination of the growing Internet News Team that FreeRepublic has become.

This story of our fight against their evil corruption must be told far and wide.

Do you think we would have EVER heard about Monica if it wasn't for Drudge?

God Bless America and ALL who sail on her!

Richard Poe's book is a must read for every American. To think it can't happen in America (totalitarianism) is to turn a blind eye to reality. It can happen and it was. It was the courage of Freepers from Florida and seven Supreme Court justices as well as the alternative media of which Poe is a part that saved the nation. But as Poe points out the battle is not over. Read this book, pass on your copy or buy several for your friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilary's secret war, quite a great read., September 15, 2004
This review is from: Hillary's Secret War: The Clinton Conspiracy to Muzzle Internet Journalists (Hardcover)
Hilary Clinton's "Secret War" by Richard Poe is a very interesting and revealing book about the all the evil doings by Miss Hilary Rodham Clinton during her time before and after the presidency. This is quite a revealing and sordid history about Hilary, which supporters will quickly denounce, however, the author explains and shows detail after incriminating details showing that his accusations are anything but a false lie.

He mentions Hilary Clinton's secret police to keep people from speaking about her trouble past and Bill Clinton.

The author exposes in detail Hilary's attempts to thwart the growing threat the internet and liberal writers pose in exposing Hilary's action. He calls it : THE CLINTON CONSIPRACY TO MUZZLE INTERNET JOURNALISTS.

The book also does mention of the new liberal internet sites such as MattGrudge.com and other sites now speaking out as not just a news outlet but against corruption

The New York City fund raiser in October 2001 where Hilary Clinton was booed. What made this September 11 post aftermath so unbelievable was that Hilary was booed by the firefighters and cops of New York City. Clearly Hilary's squeaky clean image and clean cut haircut do not cover up the fact that Hilary
Clinton has a dirty history and her attempts to hide that have failed.

"The New Underground focuses precisely on the distubring thoughts that Tom Brokaw prefers not to discuss " is the candid and true statement delivered by this great author
Richard Poe.

He also discussed the rarely talked about Filegate and Travelgate scandals with Hilary. Of course Watergater (in the Nixon era) was one scandal everyone talked about, the media
couldnt censor this because a couple of top notched journalists broke the story, however tijmes have changed since then, the public is now aware that the Media and All news
channel often censor if not delete the real truth and scandals like this from public view.

Poe writes in great detail with much passion as to all the lies and scandal this hypocritical woman and her husband Bill Clinton have done.

The mistreatment her Democrat delegates gave to Albany police Honor guard at New York Democratic Convention after Hilary was just nominate for the US senate. No as the author states her disrespect for policemen and policewomen , secret service agents all go back about twenty years to Hilary's disgraceful paper depicting police officers as pigs.

The selling out of Viacom's service for Hilary while bashing and ignoring other parties like George Bush in 2000 by refusing to give him a bash. As Poe says Hilary has a secret connection with corporations such as these getting special favors.

Now you may where's the proof of this? Enter Christmas Day 2001 as VH1/VIACOM reaired portions of the Democratic convention in NEW York, however instead of viewers hearing the boos from the audience, the audio had been doctored and changed, Hilary now received applause and cheers.

The Media despite what liar Tom Brokaw says doing his job right, didn't do things right, once again they doctored a false truth for the American people to swallow

On pg 11 CYBERCASCADE , Poe mentions how this doctored tape of Hilary receveing cheers was backed up by the lying media like TimeWarner, FoxNews and Boston Herald, however Poe and his friends at Freerepublic.com, USENET message boards and the increasing freedom and power of Internet knew better.

Eventually as Poe says, John Stossel, the great reporter for ABCNEWS broke the story that VH1 fake the footage and audio of Hilary Clinton getting booed, the media lied to Americans and sold out to Clinton and Democrats.

Poe then mentions the Media's attempts and Hilary's attempts to fabricate what happened between Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky as fake.

Poe then mentions Hilary's disgusting connectoin with Anthony Pellicano, a crooked and violent Private Investigator. The FBI even raided this guy's house in 2002, and arrested this corrupt private investigator who attacked, and set up illegal activities such as wiretappings against Hilary's enemies.

On pg Thirty two Poe discusses THE LJ DAVIS AFFAIR:

"When covering Clinton scandals, even prominent journalists must worry about their physical safety." LJ DAVIS an editor for Harper's magazine who went to Little Rock Arkansas to look into whitewater he then wrote "The Name of the Rose, but was then intimidated, by Clinton's groups": The story was Clinton's connection to Rose Law group and their ties to the mafia, drug dealers and Savings and Loan's lowlifes, and Bank of Credit and Commerce.

He then was told by someone in Washington to not pursue the story, on St. Valentine's day at Legacy Hotel he was attacked and his prints for the story and commentary were stolen.
The author then tells all about the White House War Room run by Hilary Clinton and the lies and corruption going on there. Barbara Olson's testimony, before she died while she was federal prosecutor who detailed Hilary's offenses in "Hell to Pay: The Unfolding Story of Hilary Rodham Clinton"

"Hilary is not merely and aider and abettor the secret police operation. She has been its prime instigator and organizer. IN the political life of the Clintons, it was she who pioneered the use of private detectives."

Other people like Clinton's former lovers like Sally Miller Predue recall being intimidated and had her life threatened when she threatened to go public with her affairs about Bill.

The names she mentions Terry Lenzner, founder and chairman of IGI, Jack Palladin disgraced private eye, and of course that deadbeat Anthony Pellicano, Harold Ickees, Sidney Blumenthal.

As you can tell this is an amazing book full of damaging evidence about Hilary Clinton, most of which I bet Hilary regrets.

The relevance of this book is important to as Hilary wants to be the first woman of the United States to be President, after reading this book youll will undoubtedly agree why that should not happen.

If your a Democrat or Republican or a Ralph Nader fan this book will no doubt upon your eyes to a Hilary
Clinton now one has seen before.

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't be fooled by the reviewers who never read the book., June 7, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Hillary's Secret War: The Clinton Conspiracy to Muzzle Internet Journalists (Hardcover)
First things first, let me start by saying that I have actually read this book. I love online reviewers in the "TOP 500" who obviously have not even read half the books they review. Just take a look at John D. Cofield's review below. He gives a lame attempt at claiming that the media is bias toward the right. Apparently Mr. Cofield has never picked up a New York Times, or turned the channel to anything other than Fox News. It is people like Mr. Cofield who come in from the left and, without any backup to their argument on why the right is wrong, bash us for believing what we believe. The fact that the internet came into prominence during the Clinton Administration has nothing to do with Clinton being a good or bad president. We don't look back at 1876 and say that Rutherford Hayes was a great president because the Telephone was invented during his term. As I said earlier, it is clear the Mr. Cofield has never read this book, because nothing in his review is reflected in this book. This book is a great book if you have the time to sit down and actually understand what is being talked about. It talks about the many Clinton scandals, and what President Clinton could have done to prevent the terrorist attacks of 9/11. If you are a radical liberal who opposes these beliefs, then don't read it, and definitely don't waste your time writing a review on a book that you never read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spin masters meet the internet dissenters, February 21, 2005

This review is from: Hillary's Secret War: The Clinton Conspiracy to Muzzle Internet Journalists (Hardcover)
This is a great book. Don't waste your time with my review. Get the book and read it.

Perhaps the subtitle should have been 'History of the Blogosphere.' Hillary provides a common focus for the dissenters, but the heart of the book is personal biographies of key dissenters: Matt Drudge, Chris Ruddy, David Horowitz, Carl Limbacher, Barbara Olson, Bernard Weinraub, Ambrose Evans-Pritchard, Andrew Sullivan, Hugh Hewitt, James Robinson, LJ Davis, Joe Farah, Gary Aldrich and a host of others. Some came from leftist politics (Farah, Horowitz and Sullivan); some were Internet news junkies (Drudge, Robinson, and Limbacher). Some came from newsrooms (Ruddy, Evans-Pritchard). The common thread is that all these individuals risked or sacrificed home and career to warn people about the Clinton Whitehouse extortion (Arkansas mafia), bribery (ChinaGate), blackmail (FileGate) and murders (Foster, Parks and Brown).

This is in stark contrast to the way the Clinton Whitehouse spun the Internet phenomena to ABC, NBC and CBS. This perspective was outlined in an internal Clinton Whitehouse memo: "The Communication Stream of Conspiracy Commerce". Let me quote from the opening lines of the report: "'The Communication Stream of Conspiracy Commerce' refers to the mode of communication employed by the right wing to convey their fringe stories into legitimate subjects of coverage by the mainstream media. This is how the stream works. First, well-funded right-wing think tanks and individuals underwrite conservative newsletters and newspapers such as the Western Journalism Center, the American Spectator and the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Next the stories are reprinted on the Internet where they are bounced all over the world. From the Internet, the stories are bounced into the mainstream media ... After the mainstream right-of-center American media covers the story, congressional committees will look into the story. After Congress looks into the story, the story now has the legitimacy to be covered by the remainder of the American mainstream press as a 'real' story."

Obviously, anyone with a critical intellect can investigate the validity of the two story lines. Here is a recap of the book so you have some keywords:
Introduction: A definition of the term 'conspiracy'
Chapter 1: An example of Hillary Spin: Viacom erases boos, replaces it with cheers and rebroadcasts to millions.
Chapter 2: Hillary's desire to censor Internet, Hillary's enforcers, use of FBI files to blackmail opponents.
Chapter 3: Andrew Sullivan fired from print magazine for 'Ice Queen/Drag Queen' Hillary story, sets up shop on Internet.
Chapter 4: A tale of two leftists, Hillary and David Horowitz. One came to his senses, but it cost him his cushy lifestyle.
Chapter 5: How the news junkies started to collaborate via Usenet groups.
Chapter 6: Chris Ruddy, former schoolteacher, scoops NYT on Vince Foster and loses newspaper job, joins Internet.
Chapter 7: Hillary goes on the attack with the "Communication Stream of Conspiracy Commerce", but Hillary hit man, Weiss wakes up and leaks document.
Chapter 8: The rise of Matt Drudge.
Chapter 9: The Internet's fact checking role comes of age with ChinaGate and Ron Brown's murder.
Chapter 10: Why conservatives have all the fun.
Chapter 11: Climax: the Clinton Whitehouse's attempt to shut down Drudge with $145 million lawsuit.
Chapter 12: Jim Robinson, the rise of FreeRepublic and how Freepers kept Gore from stealing the 2000 election.

If you have the ability to step back and try to gain an objective view of the battle between Internet dissenters and the Clintons, consider the issues in terms of the mass-marketing industry that powers broadcast networks like Viacom (CBS), Disney (ABC) and GE (NBC).

What do mass-marketers need? They need large compliant and conforming market populations. They like standard brands and a limited set of celebrities who all lead model lives. They don't want confusion, debate and critical thinking.

Research on conformity began in 1951, when Solomon Asch studied groups of seven to nine people who were told they were participating in a study on visual perception. These subjects were asked to match the length of a standard line to three comparison lines. One would think that this would be a relatively easy exercise, but Asch's groups only contained one real subject. The rest of the group was made up of confederates who were instructed to unanimously give incorrect responses in some trials. The results of this experiment found that the control group made errors only five percent of the time. Those exposed to the incorrect responses conformed to these answers 33% of the time, with 75% of these subjects conforming at least once. This shows how easily it is to make a person conform in a group situation.

The challenge for mass marketers is isolating an individual, surrounding the subject with 5 or 6 confederates who will repeat only the 'marketing line' and illicit effective conformity and compliance. It turns out repeated television advertisements effectively perform this duty and the subjects will enjoy the experience.

The fly in the ointment for mass marketers is a lone dissenter, a devil's advocate. The dissenter allows others who may have questions to voice their objections. The dissenter gives other potential dissenters an ally. Asch showed in his studies that just one other person who disagrees with the group decreased conformity substantially. Milgram also found this to be true. If the subject hears only one dissenting voice, the probability they will abandon their own opinion drops. In terms of the emperor's new clothes, the scales fall from the eyes and the guy is just naked.

I've been following Ruddy, Drudge, and FreeRepublic for years. This was the first opportunity to see past the byline and get to know a bit about the individuals. Despite the turgid subject matter, the book offers great hope. The Internet dissenters could make up a new volume of 'Profiles in Courage'.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another good-right-bad-left propaganda book, September 14, 2007
This review is from: Hillary's Secret War: The Clinton Conspiracy to Muzzle Internet Journalists (Hardcover)
What we have here is an apparently hard-hitting, gloves-off book that exposes the depths of the corruption of Bill and Hillary Clinton. It's real purpose, though, is to preach to the choir of those who already dislike the Clintons intensely, while cleverly covering up the deeper, broader corruption that envelopes both major political parties and all the nation's major opinion molders. The proof of the pudding is in the following long passage in the book describing how Kenneth Starr's "investigators" shrugged off the frightening harassment of an inconvenient witness in the Vince Foster death case:

No one knows who ordered the harassment team to begin its operation against Patrick Knowlton on October 26, 1995. However, someone close to the Starr investigation must have tipped them off that Knowlton had received a subpoena.

Throughout Knowlton's ordeal, Starr's team treated the beleaguered witness with extraordinary contempt.

When the street harassment began, Knowlton called the FBI and requested witness protection. Nothing happened for two days. Finally, Agent Russell Bransford--the same FBI agent who had delivered Starr's subpoena--showed up. "He had this smirk on his face, as if he thought the whole thing was amusing," says Knowlton. "I told him to get the hell out of my house."

At the same time Knowlton was calling the FBI, Ruddy and Evans-Pritchard called Deputy Independent Counsel John Bates to report the intimidation of a grand jury witness. Bates's secretary jotted down some notes. "An hour later I called again," says Evans-Pritchard. "She let out an audible laugh and said that her boss had received the message...Bates never called back.

What did Starr's people find so funny about the situation?

As a last resort, Knowlton prepared a "Report of Witness Tampering" and took it personally to the Office of the Independent Counsel. "It was their responsibility, at the very least, to find out who leaked word of his subpoena," notes Evans-Pritchard. According to Evans-Pritchard, John Bates responded by calling security and having Knowlton removed from the building.

Perhaps the most telling indication of Starr's attitude toward Knowlton is the humiliating cross-examination to which this brave man was subjected before the grand jury. Knowlton says that he was "treated like a suspect." Prosecutor Brett Kavanaugh appeared to be trying to imply that Knowlton was a homosexual who was cruising Fort Marcy Park for sex. Regarding the suspicious Hispanic-looking man he had seen guarding the park entrance, Kavanaugh asked, Did he "pass you a note?" Did he "touch your genitals?"

Knowlton flew into a rage at Kavanaugh's insinuations. Evans-Pritchard writes that several African American jurors burst into laughter at the spectacle, rocking "back and forth as if they were at a Baptist revival meeting. Kavanaugh was unable to reassert his authority. The grand jury was laughing at him. The proceedings were out of control."

It was at that point, reports [British reporter and author Ambrose] Evans-Pritchard, that Patrick Knowlton was finally compelled to confront the obvious: "the Office of the Independent Counsel was itself corrupt." (pp. 106-107)

Note carefully the names of those two Starr underlings involved in the harassment of the witness, Knowlton. They are John Bates and Brett Kavanaugh. On page 143 Poe says, not surprisingly, "Like most Americans I support George W. Bush and his War on Terror." But Poe conveniently neglects to tell his readers that this president, whom he praises as a "decent, God-fearing man," has made federal judges--with the approval of the United States Senate--of these two accomplices after the fact of a high-level murder. He even leaves their names out of his extensive index. You will never find this connection made anywhere in the mainstream media, either.

I rest my case.

5.0 out of 5 stars An interesting history of an alternative media, September 8, 2006
By
Kelly Reeder "Evan Herberth" (Covington, KY United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Hillary's Secret War: The Clinton Conspiracy to Muzzle Internet Journalists (Hardcover)
This book does give a concise and to the point overview of scandals and cover-ups that have ties with Hillary, with documentation for further research. However, as far as this book is specifically concerned, I would describe it as a very interesting history of the new Internet journalists, especially as regards their rocky relationship with Hillary Clinton when she was first lady. In addition to this, it also documents the failure, in many cases, of the mainstream "Big" media (sometimes purposely, according to the author) to report the facts as they are, so as not to offend certain power structures in the country.

I do not believe anyone in their right mind, (Hillary is in her wrong mind :-) reading this wonderful chronology of Internet journalism, could pin the term "vast, right wing conspiracy" on the expository news released by the more conservative Internet journalists. After all, politically speaking, it has been the left wing, and less the right wing (with some exceptions), in recent history, that has resorted to more surreptitious and psychologically deliberate forms of persuasion. Either way, I do agree with Anne Coulter's observation, as quoted in this book, that "Liberals fail in any media realm where there is competition. In the three media where success is determined on the free market--radio, books, and the Internet--conservatives rule....Only a monopoly could produce a Dan Rather." (p. 56)
